at least aliens and Evil Dead 2 were in the montage.

Oh, and I call utter bullshit on the Hurt Locker winning best picture.
yeah. the best picture should have gone to either district 9, basterds, up, or avatar.

the horror montage was great. i practicaly threw up when i found out that people from twilight were introducing it. twilight deserves to burn.

Yo Aby, Imma let you finish, but Twilight was the scariest movie of all time!

nye... It explains everything!
This feels like the Academy trying to be the "cool dad," being "down" with the kids and their "jiggy" lingo. It's kind of embarrassing.

My reaction. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDQuBUy1dgo]

Seriously, have the people who run the oscars had lobotomies? Putting Twilight in with all of those films would be like putting a piece of paper smeared with feces in the Lourve. I am now convinced that the Oscars are run by chimpanzees.
pants-oh-head retarted chimpanzees. Twilight is a horror film as much as my ass is Brad Pitt...IT IS NOT!!!!

Horror? HORROR? Porquoi?

I wouldn't call The Silence of the Lambs a food documentary because it mentions fava beans and chianti, why would I call Twilight a horror because it features a bunch of sparkly models pretending to be vampires?

Isn't it amazing what something can accomplish when it has massive flocks of braindead sheep to praise it ?

That's exactly what I thought when I saw that. Everyone around me was having a contest to see who could name the most of the movies, and it went a little something like this:

"PSHYSO! GREAT MOVIE!"

"CHUCKY! IT'S ACTUALLY A MIDGET!"

"THE EXORCIST!

"TWILIGHT! Wait, WTF? TWILIGHT?"

EDIT:

What's their reasoning behind classifying Twilight as horror?

It can't be just because it features Vampires, otherwise Count Duckula and Mona the Vampire would also be horror, and they're aimed at children.

Next they'll be giving Skeleton from SuperTed an lifetime achievement award for best horror villain.

I told you all the Oscars were bullshit, but did you listen? Noooooooooo!

As for Twilight, I haven't seen or read it, except for a few trailers; but it sure as hell didn't strike me as a horror film. More like an episode of 90210 with, what was supposed to be a vampire, but didn't quite pull it off.

If horror genre requirments consisted of crappy writing the ruining of vampires and the movie was so bad that it made eyes bleed then yes i would consider it part of the horror genre.

But since its not then my answer is HELL NO.

EA has gone too far! Clearly this is a publicity stunt for Dante's Inferno, but is nothing sacred anymore?

You heard me, "Twilight" was honored in a horror movie montage that included such films as "Jaws", "Silence of the Lambs", "Friday the Thirteenth", "The Shining", "The Exorcist", and "Rosemary's Baby" among others.

As another personal slap in the face of horror movie fans, the tribute to horror films was actually presented on stage by the two stars of the second Twilight film.

Your thoughts?
Well it clearly horrified you enough to make this thread, right?
Not the film, but the ooze in the brains of the film maker that made the montage.
I don't see what the big deal is. It's just a movie. Some people like it, some don't. So what? Most horror movies are frankly crap anyway, there's only a tiny handful of genuinely good ones.
It's not about whether people liked it it's about whether it's horror or not. And it's not in any shape or form, sparkly or otherwise.
