Eh, if I wan't to find out what my friends are doing I'll text message them. If they are out of credit and want to reply, they can ring me or something.

It's pretty fashionable to hate all these social networking websites, which really gets annoying if people aren't aware why they hate them. I get the impression lots of people are just regurgitating an opinion they heard somewhere else, much like people do with, well, pretty much everything in existence.

They all have their uses. However, they're often squandered or somehow evolve into an abomination. I use Twitter. It's good for keeping up to date with the musicians I follow. I often miss artists when they come through my city because they either do poor promotion or it just doesn't exist, so Twitter is the best source for me. My posts consist of anything I think of I'd consider quotable. I do have quality control and mainly try to promote my music. In fact, I only started Twitter to attempt to promote my music, but it quickly came to my attention that it's totally fucking useless in that respect. It only sustains some kind of following you already have, not create it. Saying that though, I found it useful in other ways, so we pretty much broke even.

I post on it occasionally, but I mostly use it to see what others are up to.
This, except I don't even post on it.

Unless you have a smartphone or are attached to your computer 24 hours a day, its impossible to tweet often enough to justify having any followers.

But, oh if I had that smartphone, I would be posting every time I got up to go use the bathroom, beleive you me.

While Twitter CAN be used for useful things, its usually just used to post pointless shit every 30 seconds.

Besides, hearing the word "tweet" 50 times during my day is getting ridiculous.

Inane drivel. I have a deep, burning, vitriolic hatred of almost all types of social networking - Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, deviantArt, et cetera. I do see the point, but I don't use them and I never will. I don't need to alert people to any random thought that pops into my head, I don't want every detail of my life be accessible with a simple search, I don't need entirely disparate people (i.e. my online friends and my RL ones, and my RL family) meeting. IMO, using social networking sites like this for other than official/commercial purposes (i.e. band pages, political twitter accounts, etc.) assumes a level of self-importance and self-centredness that I just don't have. Like I said, I don't want the whole world to be aware of everything that goes on in my life. Why would anyone be interested?

*ahem* I don't use Twitter.

Man, I'm surprised to see how many people have so many twitter feelings for the site. While I don't give it very chirp criticism, I don't think the site is tweet.

I have a Twitter account, but I don't use it very often. I do enjoy it though, following certain people and their updates.

I just wish more of my friends would use it so I wouldn't have to use Facebook as often.

I don't really like it. I made an account and posted whatever thoughts popped into my head for about 20 minutes then left and never looked back.

I use it to rob people's houses, "I'm leaving for vacation for 2 weeks" and garage sale at "23 Nixon crescent" make stealing waay to easy.

Everyone is aching to be heard, or at least think that someone is listening. That's what Twitter's all about.

Do I have an account? Fuck no.

It has 3 main purposes:

1) Facebook statuses for people who for whatever reason dislike Facebook.

2) You can read stuff actually written by your favorite celebrities (admittedly, I read Tim Schafer's Twitter a bit, just because it's often hilarious).

3) It's a way for people over 40 to delude themselves into thinking that they're "with it" and technologically up-to-date. I just don't update my Twitter anymore, and I've only met one person in my life who actually keeps theirs updated continuously. The truth is, people below the age of 25 just don't use Twitter, despite what the older population believes.

This is one of the things that always made me laugh. Bawwww mummy's on the interwebs? How adorable.

I have a grandfather who I've had the particular displeasure of being forced to "Friend" on Facebook, and I can tell that he wrote something because he doesn't know how to turn off the caps lock.

Why can't older people just stick with the physical realm...
