Poll: Two and a Half Men

OK, first thread.

Every time I read about Two and a Half Men, 9 out of 10 comments show pure hatred for the show. I just wanted to see what people on the Escapist think of it.

And while we're here, why do you like/dislike/not care about it?

I don't understand why there's so much hate for the show. There are plenty of shows that are just as bad if not worse in all the areas people spit ire at 2 and a half men.

I think the problem for me at least is just that it's a tired premise that probably shouldn't have lasted more then 3 seasons. But it wasn't a bad show per se.

I'll take 2 1/2 men over King of Queens anyday.

Only Charlie Sheen can get away with getting millions to make bad comedy on this level.
But then there is something honest about how bad it is as well, can't really think of that many great shows, especially comedies.

It's one of the few shows, as series, that I actually watch the few times I plant my ass in front of a TV.

When it started I thought it was OK, and Holland Taylor is very talented. However once it realized how low it could go without the show went to hell. It's been years since I've seen an episode so at this point I really don't care.

I'll second this, if there's nothing else on, 9/10 times this is on Comedy Central. I don't remember laughing though. I just know it well enough to know the plot and it's not as bad as people make it out to be.
...But that kid. That kid.

I dislike it because I don't think I've ever seen an episode I've laughed at more than once or twice, uninteresting characters and there's a kid in it. Seriously, kids in movies and shows almost always annoy the hell out of me (with some exceptions - Natalie Portman in Leon for instance). What mostly annoys (or rather, annoyed) me is that for a while it was the standard "background TV" whenever I went over to friends.

I haven't seen more than bits of it, but IMHO, it is utterly appalling. The only defense it can make is that it isn't the only comedy series to completely fail at every level apart from insulting the viewer's intelligence.
