I got 10 right and I'm from the Britain. We did something like this in my sociology class once, and it was utter stupidity, which was the whole point of learning about it in the class. I mean god forbid they could make a test to show a personality of someone to see if they could fit into society well enough or something along those lines, test's like these are such nonsense. I mean bloody hell, What the fuck is a quango, sounds like an exotic dance/animal to me.

10/24 for an Irishman ain't bad. I would have 11 but I refuse to acknowledge Ulster Scots as an official dialect spoken in Northern Ireland. It's about as official as leetspeak

I got 11/24, but I'm not a UK citizen either. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.) I was guessing wildly at most of them...

That was a very difficult test. Most of it honestly had very little to do with what I think should be in a citizenship test. The questions about the constitution, electorates in parliament, byelections, public schools, etc. are fine. It's those useless ones about immigration, religion and 19th century history that seem way out of place.

Not really... the Magna Carta was more of a charter than a constitution, and all bar three clauses were repealed by about a hundred and fifty years ago.

10/ 24 and I'm an Irishman. The only question I'm certain I got right is the Ulster-Scots one. That is genuinely considered a legitimate dialect of English, which you can study at some unis here. No joke. Regardless, I'm not really bothered. The questions largely surrounded things which I doubt even the common Brit knows much about. I pity anyone going up for citizenship.

Failed, that was a ****ing hard test, I was guessing the majority. Wasn't expecting the question "Why was a recruitment agency set up in 1950's in the West Indies", nor do I understand how knowing that makes me British

Most history lessons in British schools deal with the empire and the bloody textile industry.

But most of those are ridiculous. Apparently to pass you either have to use google or be more British than the Queen.

I would actually argue that the only people that have any business in knowing this number are those interesting in spacial distributions of populations. Religious leaders. MP's generally for issues such as housing as it tells us interesting social tales. And right wing activists campaigning to loudly for closing boarders and expelling immigrants almost like that wouldnt kill the economy.

In this regard I would argue that anyone immigrating to this country SHOULDNT know this statistic as it suggests that its important. To the lay person under true British ideals, nobody cares. Just like noone should really care if women are paid less (which I dont, btw) because the answer should be, "they arnt". If everyone answers this truthfully, then it is true in fact.

What do you do when it rains?
a) Nothing, it always rains.
b) Mention to the person across from you at work that you desire to emigrate
