She should stay masked because as stated we all have our own idea of what she looks like and many people will be disappointed to find out what she really looks like.

No. Never.

Two reasons:

1. It would take away a lot of their charm and mystique.

2. Whatever Bioware came up with (whatever ANYONE came up with) wouldn't live up to the expectations. Even if it was what some want, a lot of people would be disappointed (too ugly or too pretty, too human-like or too inhuman, etc.)

I think I prefer Harbinger.

They'll show us a Quarian in ME3 I think. There'll be too much nerd-rage if they don't.

If not, there's always the pervs over at DeviantArt.

That picture... is deeply rooted in the uncanny valley... can't unsee.
Maybe because it's a disturbing look-a-like of Michael Jackson? And when did we accept an universal rule of quarians having cybernetic inplants slashed across their face?

I say no, they've been masked this long, and many people have their own idea what they'd look like.
If they got unmasked, a lot of people would no doubt be disappointed.
It'd be like if Master Chief was unmasked.

I am going to hell for this.
Two words. LOVE. IT!!!

OT: I'd say let them keep their masks. Revealing them would be like having Gordon Freeman speak, revealing the Pyros gender or some other attrocity. I would have been interested half a year ago when I still appreciated Tali and the quarians, but after I got to know the sick cult-following of her, that feeling decreased very rapidly.

The best thing I can think of are that they decide to reveal them in any of the books. That way we still keep our own fantasy but still get to know how the writers and artists imagined them.

Let's see her damn face already. If it's good enough for Shepard, it's good enough for me. I find the truth far more interesting than the mystery.

Ok, I'm one of those who absolutly adore Tali!
But I believe removing Tali's and other Quarian's masks is not such a great Idea.

I think what makes Tali inparticular, that little bit more Sexy is the fact that she has that mystery appeal. The romance scene I got from her was a real tease but after I nodded sagely and a agreed it was a great scene nonetheless.
Removing her mask will only please a small handful of the fat greedy fan kids who are running out of game material to masturbate over.

Chances are if there's a Mass Effect 5 in a few years and BioWare are out of ideas, some of you will get your wish but right now when the Mass Effect games and its characters/races are loved for what they are.. why waste a good thing?

I am either hoping for:
A) Unmask with the kicker in the reveal being that Quarians have faces like Predators from the movie with the same name.
B) No resolution, let Quarian faces remain one of the many mysteries of the Mass Effect universe.

My most sincere wish is B. But A would be great for all the laughs that could be had once the Tali-fanbase start making threads all around the internet about how Tali was ruined forever.

wait she is racist?
Did you somehow not notice her intense hatred for the Geth and desire to wipe them all out, even if it means throwing away millions of lives in a pointless war?

I say yes. It doesn't have to be Tali or any other Quarian we've encountered throughout the series. Hell, I wouldn't even specify they be alive either. But I would like to see how Bioware would portray them maskless.

Yes because I am naturally curious.
No because I like the mystery.

If they do so then I hope they don't make it seem tacked on for the sake of it. It's have to be relevant to the actual plot.

I could care less, but it would take considerable effort.

As far as I am concerned, while I think Shepard and Tali could be perfectly good friends, that is as far as the relationship should ever go. Indeed, of all the romance partners, Tali is clearly the worst option for a male.

While people assert that Ashley is a "racist" (a point that has a degree of merit save for the fact that racism is generally reserved for uninformed and impersonal hatred based on race rather than a distrust consistently reinforced by one's interactions with other races as is the case with Ashley), I would say that Tali is certainly more so. Her people created an artificial race and waged a brutal war against them once the realized what they had done. Three centuries have done little to dull the hatred and indeed much of the Quarian leadership seems determined to throw there people into direct battle once more. Tali consistently murder geth and sends the bodies of her victims to her father for medical experimentation. Replace steel and electronics with flesh and bone and I'd wager most would be appalled by such action. When placed in the Presence of a geth who has done nothing but help, she nearly compromises the mission and murders said geth simply on the basis that it was geth. Where Ashley has a mistrust of aliens based on personal experience, Tali has a hatred of geth based on neither logic and reason nor personal experience and she is perfectly willing to resort to murder when she sees an example.

Beyond that distasteful undercurrent of racism, there is the perhaps greater issue of Quarian biology. Their weakened immune systems make taking off their suits a dangerous prospect at best. Worse still, Quarian (and Turian) biology is simply compatible with Human (Or Asari). And by incompatible I mean toxic. The mere act of fluid exchange (which is what human intercourse involves) would be highly dangerous to both parties. People who love Tali should realize that trying to engage in a physical relationship with her is mind bogglingly stupid with respect to her safety.

I find it amusing and disappointing at the same time how people choose dislike a character more because a lot of others like the character. If they aren't your favorite, fair enough. But many people seem to get rude or borderline hostile in explaining how they don't like X character simply because many others do.

And on the racist topic.. What? Towards Geth? Some people would say you can't be racist towards a machine, some people say they are sentient so you can. Either way, irrelevant. Even though they created them, the Quarians hate the Geth because they drove them off their homeworld. At fault or not I am sure just about anyone could hate an entire civilization based on that. So it's not racism, just hate.

Some Quarians might be racist - the ones who still want to take control over the Geth again. But in their eyes they may still be just machines so even then it may not really be meant as racism. So no, I don't think Quarians as a whole are racist, nor is Tali. They themselves are major victims of racism from the other races.
