Also, speaking of graphics cards, Mafia 2 set the recommended for me as lowest setting, but I can play it 1024xwhatever resolution, max texture settings and some extra effects. Odd.

Yeah, I got that. I can even run it with the PhysX on and stay at the 30 fps mark, although I turned the APEX off by taking the 'cloth' file out of the APEX folder. Now I get all the fancy particle/PhysX effects and the APEX doesn't grind it to a complete stop. And my current card is 512mb 9600 GT.

Looks great, runs great.

you probably read that alot more seriously than i meant it to be, but my brothers REFUSE to touch any other games that dont have the words "modern" or "warfare" in it, i tried to show them team fortress 2, left 4 dead, kotor, oblivion, jedi academy, gears of war (1 and 2), and hell even some wii games, but they just absolutely refuse to play anything else and say its all garbage and doesn't take half as much skill to play any of those games as it does mw2, and they basically say anything i play is complete garbage whenever they walk by, so it does irk me a bit that they are THAT blinded due to mw2..just being mw2.

i am usually perfectly open to people opinions and whatnot, just saying i live with this shit every day now and its really pushin my limits havin that happen 10 times a day

I can see how that would be annoying and I feel sorry for you that you have to put up with such stupidity. On the other hand, at least they're playing some form of video game now. Maybe with time they'll move on and discover the other brilliant games they can play?

Halo's great but I'm a Bungie fan before a Halo fan. CoD has been in the spotlight for a while but nowadays almost every shooter is in a Modern FPS setting. Not many games anymore give you the kind of varied fun Halo can offer.

You should calm down. It's perfectly true the the most recent CoD games (particularly their multiplayer) have strong appeal among less intelligent demographics. This doesn't say anything negative about all the people who play CoD games, only that a component of their popularity is an objectively idiotic portion of their fanbase.

The same could (and should) be said of Halo, and that's coming from the guy with what is probably the nerdiest Halo-related avatar on this site.

OT: Yes I think so. Marketing seems to be strong for it and I think the beta helped things along nicely.

So, can halo reach beat modern warfare 2 on 360?

I think Modern Warfare 2 is already getting beaten. Today on Steamstats it's ranked third on average player numbers behind those old juggernauts the Counter Strikes. Seeing as it's less than a year old and it's already lost more than half it's player base, I don't think MW2 is going to bother us for much longer. At least not on the PC side.

It's the first game I've ever pre-ordered so yeah, I think so too. The only thing holding it back is the xbox 360 exclusive thing, whereas MW2 was released on all the consoles. So it won't beat it overall, but on xbox 360.

Well I'm not the biggest Halo Fan (Do have a soft spot for ODST though) but I really hate the COD games. So I suppose the enemy of my enemy is my friend?

Wait, what? A soft spot for the worst Halo game? Strange.

To be fair the campain was okay, (I liked the soundtrack and the whole loneliness feelas the rookie, sadly the cool ambient feeling didn't last very long) Firefight was pretty lame though. All in all it was a pretty good deal for me since I got an easy Achievment game, and all the DLC I was to lazy to ever buy =P

I also really enjoyed ODST. Sure there were a number of things that needed to be addressed, and everyone has the right to like or dislike a game for its reasons, but i felt like i got my moneys worth. I've spent many enjoyable hours on Firefight with my 3 other local Halo buddies and I think Firefight 2 is going to take the bar and run quite far with it in Reach.

It's a shame my pre-ordered copy will have to wait a few agonising months before finally being played, for reasons out of my control.

Every week I say "I guess I'll give it one more shot, all my buddies are playing!" and every week I end up rage quitting because of Commando and Noob Tubers over and over again until I pop the CoD4 disc back into my 360 and go on my merry way.

I was going to get Reach try out after the dissapointment of Halo 3, but I sould my Xbox I saw the fail rate % and thought it would not be in my profitable interests so I sold it got a call back from the guy 3 weeks later saying it RROD, oh well I really wanted to fly in space and get the Statue figurines stuff. oh and I hope it outsells Modern Warfare because I do not like games based on the present in most cases or just following realistic looks so I say either get COD in space or get out (Halo partially FTW) at least Halo is Ridiculously based on Aliens and Predator in design and with laser cannons sure you can't customize them but you get to customize your badass armor.
