I'm not sure what the difference between "It was ok" and "It was decent" is, but it seems a very tiny increment. Anyway, I didn't like it much for several reasons: It all starts with Evey going for a walk after curfew...wait, what? She's supposed to be 16 and naively going out to try and prostitute herself to try and scrape a few more pennies together to fund her fairly miserable existence, not boldly going for a stroll across town, risking her life to see a friend!
I don't mind changes to the book to make it easier to film, these are necessary for the process, but that one really screws up her whole character development arc. Then in comes V who competes for the world record in alliterative sentence length for no good reason except to hammer home the "V" motif (which has plenty of nods to it in the first place).
Other annoyances are V not being portrayed as enough of a stone-cold psychopath and more a lovable rogue, the excision of Rose Almond who is a direct parallel of Evey (coming from a oppressed position and making a huge change to the world by killing the party leader who doesn't even remember who she is) and the amazingly bloody stupid ending where somehow everyone receives a "V" mask in the post and organise themselves into an overwhelming protest march.
There's plenty more, so I'll say one good thing: The section where Evey is arrested and tortured until she has nothing left to fear was handled pretty much perfectly.
Ok, never mind - the whole Stephen Fry subplot was total crap, so I'm ending on a sour note.
