After so very long, Valve releases SOMETHING regarding updates for TF2 on systems other than PC...and we all know how very long that has been in the dark, now haven't we? Their excuse for 3 years of silence? That it would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to update the console version of the game the same way as the PC version what with over 100 updates for the bloody game. Some people from Gamefaqs interpret it as "Valve are lazy PC elitists and kept us in the dark and didn't do any work on the updates to troll us". Others, including me, saw it as "That doesn't rule out the possibility of one huge update/DLC now does it?"

Your thoughts?

P.S. I know this is an article about the Steam for Mac stuff, but at least it gives us something.

Well let's be honest, they made a fair enough point. I feel bad for the people who bought it on 360, but in some ways I wish TF2 HADN'T had all these updates, since they just cause ridiculous amounts of clutter. I preferred the game when it first came out. It was simple, and I was good at it.

Ironically I'm playing TF2 on the 360 at this very moment. lol
A giant update would be nice but that is like asking a million dollars to fall into my lap so as long as they fix the sky walking I would be satisfied.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but Valve is a business; they're not your friends. They put out this content for free. Why? I don't know. But they're not going to pay out to give you free content.

Could be worse. You could have the PS3 version. Heard that one launched unplayable and needed a patch.
Cue the general HL2E3 pining.

Oh man, now I need to make an iTunes on PC joke.

I can't do anything about it, but i can at least sympathize with 360 owners here... well, sort of, because i didn't play TF2 in months. Despite new maps constantly being added, people still play only on 2bored, Dullbowl, and Moldrush. I just can't find servers running intresting stuff.

Oh, and don't try to point me at good servers. My ping to Europe is ~150 ms, to America and Australia - much more.

Oh, I say it a hundred times on the forums, it makes perfect sense, and VALVE has to say it before anyone believes it?

No, I get it. I see what's going on. Screw you all. >=(

Not to advertise, but nomnomnom's Alpha server runs a decent custom/vanilla map rotation. And it's completely non-serious.

Where it is - America? Australia? Sorry, but something tells me my ping to there will be ~300 milliseconds.

I should probably edit that in.

I'm not sure, actually. I'm on the United States West Coast and I ping in at about 96. So it's probably East Coast US.

Yet another thing that causes me to question the unanimous love for Valve. For a long time I was one of those 360 TF2 gamers until I got a new computer and decided to make the switch. You bet that if I was still playing on the 360 I'd be really pissed off. Valve, if you don't care enough to pay for all those updates, DON'T FUCKING TELL US WE'LL BE GETTING THEM.

I'm upset...ya, I'll admit it. But Team Fortress 2 is still fun even without the updates. Sure, I would like to have them, but I can live without them.

i cant beleive they actually play it on console. the lag is unbearable.

oh and i totally agree with:

They should've never ported TF2 over to the consoles to begin with.
That way, fans would just accept that TF2 is a PC game, the same way pc gamers accept that Halo is a console game, so is Killzone 2 and Resistence.

If you give people something, they will whine about it.
