Game companies are like drug cartels. They won't loose money because we're always gonna be willing to pay for their product.

Mmm.
You seem to be forgetting why the economy is failing, the media originally exaggerated the state of the economy so the Mondeo man is thinking "well, the news tells me that prices are rising and debts are soaring so I should keep hold of my money for now until it sorts itself out." This may seem tangential but bear with me.

So at that point, the economy was... fragile shall we say, and needed more money to be put into it by the consumer. But as people were fearing that their money would be worth less now than it would do at a later date, due to the hysteria surronding it. So, an already fragile economy was being chipped down and down until the point where profits are diminished, then huge losses occur and now we're even getting to the point that banks are having to be nationalised.

My point? Well, so long as their are gamers, people like us on forums through Iwata and Miyomatos new buddies, then there will always be a market for video games. When it comes to video games, the majority of us wouldn't be reluctant to buy a game we want. I mean it's only £40 when it comes down to it. That's hardly going to put you in the red.

Basically, support the video games industry and it will stay put.
