There's been no conclusive proof that weed kills brain cells. I think the official theory is that weed makes your brain cells inactive for the few hours that you're high. The studies done in the 70's that suggested that weed was bad for you, were conducted very poorly on rhesus monkeys. The experiment almost looked like they were trying to harm the monkeys. Basically what they did was strap a mask attached to a gas tank filled with Marijuana smoke onto the monkeys' faces everyday for fifteen minutes for a year. Forcing an animal to breath nothing but smoke for fifteen minutes straight everyday for 365 day is going to cause damage. To your lungs, your heart, your brain, pretty much anything.
okay, so weed might not be bad for you. or at least that bad, but intoxicated also covers alcohol use which is harmful to braincells, and other, more serious drugs, that simply damage everything. Like meth!

Because everybody does meth, heroin and opiates! But yes, those drugs and Alcohol can cause serious damage. And while I don't condone the use of addictive opiates such as meth, alcohol can be enjoyed in moderation, instead of getting "fall off the face of Earth" drunk every weekend, why not just get "I can totally fly!" drunk every weekend? But seriously. Alcohol can be enjoyed responsibly.

I'm pretty sure you can't actually do enough damage in terms of killing brain cells through alcohol to harm you in any noticeable way. I don't have the actual numbers in front of me, but when I was taking Nerobio my teacher showed us some statistic that was like you kill a hundred or so brain cells every time you drink and he did the math of total brain cells and how much you would have to drink to cause minimal amounts of quantifiable damage. The result was something along the lines of you had to drink constantly for like 40 or so years. By then you'd probably kill the rest of your organs before you hurt your brain.

agreed, I like my drink every once in a while. I don't care that it damages my brain. it does a little, but everything damages you to some degree, so I've decided not to give a shit.

'noooo don't go into the sunlight, it'll give you cancer!
nooo don't stay in the shade forever, it will give you vitamine-whatever shortage
don't drink cola, it'll give you a heartattack
don't drink cola light, it'll give you another type of cancer!'

Exactly, everything has some sort of risk associated with it nowadays, whether or not it's truly there. But ultimately it's up to you, the consumer, to decide what's best for you.

whenever I'm at a party and everyone starts getting fairly inebriated, someone always suggests gaming of some kind.

usually it's Wii sports.
though last night it was Madden or something, which had plenty of opportunities for sabotaging the opposing team. we played using two xboxes in the house, connected to XBL to play & basically, one person would be playing the game while the others would run through and try get the controller of the other team. so much fun.

Tekken! It's a great drunken game.
I tried to play flower. And failed.

About the discussion about what's good for your body and what's not: I had a teacher that said that it was better for your body if you drink and do light drugs frequently in small doses than doing it once a year in stupidly huge amounts. He is an avid weed+alcohol apologist and has published a few studies about their benefits... :p

Beer smells like pee, so I tend not to drink as pee tastes nasty. Trust me.

Anyway, someone on MW2 was telling everyone in our lobby how to make a joint, he was saying how he always did better while high. Not really intoxication, but it's the only relevent info I have.

Hell yes. I'm pretty plastered right now! Who wants to join me in a round of unnecessary team kills on a counter strike server? No one?

Naw, I'm just kidding. I stopped doing that a while ago. Ahem.

I game and I drink, but never at the same time. Mostly because I think it's really pathetic to get drunk on your own, and most of my favorite games nowadays are singleplayer ones.

I usually end up playing more traditional games whilst drunk. I'm an absolute god at foosball while inebriated. It's almost to the point where my friends think I'm not even drunk at all.

I don't play while intoxicated per se, but I do play many Wii games such as Mario Party and WiiFit as a drinking game. Nothing beats trying to balance during WiiFit after a few drinks. Hilarity ensues.

I've definitely played lots of different types of games drunk, stoned or a combination of the two. Good times!
