Oh boy, it's my "Updates" Que now.
I have vista, But service pack one was a nightmare.
they had to patch it for those of use who have the "Media center" version otherwise Vista breaks into a thousand pieces.
So what should i do?
I can't really afford to buy another operating system at the moment.

you should always stay updated
You do fully realize that installing this update could mean i'd have to do a full system reboot meaning i lose all my files and date and have to revert to factory settings right?

1) Can't afford a mac at the moment.
2)Vista sucks. Vista media center is worse.
3) I'd go back to XP if i could afford to, Alas, Not affordable at the moment.

Can you just do a restore point and roll back if it breaks things?
Considering how badly the last "Service pack" Broke things, Most likely not.
for "service pack one" windows was so broken it would not even start up.
So no a restore point wouldn't really help.

I just installed SP2 today and I haven't noticed anything different. I don't even know what it did. But I also don't remember having any problem with the first one. I may have gotten Vista after it came out.

You might be "Normal" Vista. I have "Media center vista".

I've tried it several times and after it mocks my ancestors and tries to make love to my anus it pretends that it does'nt know what I am talking about.

yea, or you just back up your files on CD's or DVD's or flash drives or on the web or on an external hard drive

I heard the update is a beta version.
^if its the beta unless you work for Microsoft don't download it
if its the official release download it
considering I have Vista on my laptop and its not auto downloading I assume its the beta
