I always wondered why the protagonists in Harry Potter referred to Lord Voldemort as "He who shall not be named".
Besides the fact that his named turned out to be cursed

But if they were trying to avoid using his name, why did they have to give him an alias that made him sound more powerful. I would think they would call him an insulting name like "Tom Piddle", or "Lord Moldy Shorts.

[HEADING=1]If you could come up with an insult for Harry Potter & friends to call voldemort what would you use?[/HEADING]

If anybody can tell me where "He-Who-Smells" comes from, I'll be rather surprised.

That sounds like a Harry Potter Puppet Pals joke.

I'll go with The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy's suggestion:

You could just call him Voldy. That way he sounds almost friendly... until he kills you.

Seconded. I freakin' love The grim adventures of Billy and Mandy. Maybe they thought that taking the piss out of a serial killers name wasn't a very wise idea.

Actually, Lord Voldemort was a name he adopted himself to differentiate himself from his muggle heritage. As for a nickname, how about "Old Murderin' Murray"?
