I voted for strict population control because if we did just go extinct, Chimpanzees would just evolve into humans in a few million years anyway, and this would start all over again. Chimpanzees have already been observed using tools to hunt. If I'm in charge, we can have a sustainable future, without anyone who would vote for Sarah Palin. Vote me Emperor of the Earth!

The sad thing about this is that these people are intelligent and SHOULD be reproducing to counter the exponentially growing number of stupid people. I mean come on, there's too few smart people already..

PETA? Treating animals in an ethical and responsible manner doesn't constitute stupidity to me. In fact, not all PETA members are vegetarians, although the vast majority are. The ones that aren't believe that as long as the animal wasn't treated cruelly, it's perfectly acceptable to eat it.

Apologies, I was generalising, the head of PETA had themselves sterilised, for the same reason as these fellows.

If PETA actually stood for the ethical treatment of animals, I'd agree with you. However, they don't; they're more akin to the Animal Liberation Front. They use unethical means (lying to children is the one that makes my blood boil the most) to promote their ethical stance, and to me that means either heinous malice or just inexcusible stupidity.

How old are you? Perhaps you should lay off "Mein Kampf" and internet for a while and get back to you middle school books.
Middle school?!
I'm turning 21 in April...

By the way, who or what the hell is Mein Kampf.

I suppose I should've seen this coming, because everything I wrote in it that post is clearly serious... [/sarcasm]

Yeah, we should stop. Look at how much we've fucked up a SINGLE planet.

Pollution
Extinction
Global Warming
Scaring the Earth (roads, towns, etc.)
Messed up species (marine mammals, buffalo, elephants, etc.)

And probably the worst, all these together have a chance of ending the only life we are sure of in the universe. So bravo humans. You really fumbled the ball this time.

The planet is ours now. We shall do as we please.

Here is something we need to remember: As humans, we are the planet. We're not really different, we are just a part of the system.

I don't really see how humans have done anything other than what they've been mentally evolved to do. The point of mental evolution is to be more intelligent, therefore, if not to create and advance, what exactly did nature intend by gifting us greater intellect? Face it, no human is morally evil or stupid enough to believe "I'll just pollute the seas" or "I'll wipe out this species". Most of this has been done in past out of a lack of knowledge or it's been a necessary evil, and the end result of those actions is that we have advanced beyond them and are finding more ecological friendly alternatives. You can deny that and claim man is a spawn of evil who wants to destroy, but I'm afraid eco-friendly is the big focus everyone is talking about and going for nowadays. Even if you don't believe the industry would do it out of the kindness of its heart, they'd do it for money because being eco-friendly is more appealing to customers in the modern world. True, humans have done retarded shit like hunt animals for sport, meat or fur, but such things are being looked down on and condemned by society and some have been outlawed completely, so I don't see how the entire human race can be held accountable for that.

Wait until her best friend gets pregnant, she notices her first wrinkles and you hear "Honey, I was thinking..."
Yeah I'm worried about that. But most of our friends have kids. I figure someday having children may be the only way I'll be able to see my buddies. That's depressing.

You know how it got the way it did? We didn't have a pretense to compare it to. We can't know to do or not do something if we never learned to. Get a little less naive.

If I had the chance, I would totally wipe out a species, in so long as it was an animal I didn't like. Like a species of killer ants or something (there are thousands of species of ants, I'm sure we can do without one).

The ironic thing is that the people in this group won't have kids and will die out. The essential problem with idea is that they think the Earth is more important then humanity. Yes its nice but if humanity is dead then it doesn't matter if the Earth is nice or a cesspool. Nobody will be here to notice. The Earth is part of the cosmic cycle, doomed to die out at some point and its much bigger then us. The universe doesn't care, only people do. Letting us die out to fix the Earth is liking curing disease by killing the patient.
