From what I've read here they are known for accepting other viewpoints (but will contest you on those points) and not really keen on banning ideological opponents, unlike some sites. They may have more people of certain viewpoints (some of which I vehemently disagree) but by principle are willing to accept other views and not very ban-happy. I wouldn't want to just be in a rightwing echo chamber any more than a leftwing one.

Yeah, everything I've seen from people here has said that RPGCodex should be about perfect. But it's running in third right now, with Giant Bomb of all fucking places having a massive lead.

I like it too but the general discussion forum being walled off for a year flat to new members is BS. Not sure I really have the patience for that. Other people might though.

To geek out for a minute, there aren't really any "wizards", foreign or domestic in middle-earth. It isn't a profession or the like. There are only a tiny number of them, such as Radagast the Brown, Saruman the White/Many Coloured and Gandalf the Grey/White. There are some others who don't play a significant role in LotR. They are not magical men however, they are Maiar, mystical and immortal beings of the same ilk as Sauron and the Balrog. Gandalf was one of the Istari, a Maiar put into human form so they could help Middle Earth.

The point is, Gandalf isn't a random magic dude with a long beard and a funny hat. Tho he certainly looks like one. There are only a handful like him in the world, they are very powerful beings and would be living figures of history and legend. I imagine everyone will know who they are.

To the hobbits he's some random weirdo that makes fireworks, though.

Now that I think of it, the changes from the books to the movies all seem to end up with people beyond Rivendell not taking him seriously. Shut up Gandalf, we're going to Helm's Deep. Go away Gandalf, don't want no wizards round here. You don't know wizards, they like making up giant orc armies.

Admittedly, Theoden was right about Helm's Deep.

As an aside, do they even have random magic people like Saruman said the Necromancer probably was (when Saruman wasn't taking Gandalf seriously either)?

Actually i find it really funny so many users here are butthurt for not providing link for different Porn games I suggest for them to play.
I constantly tell them just google the name to find it, but no, still lazy to do them themselves it seems.
So I decided to troll them sometimes and each time I post a Porn game, I am trying to find a more creative way to make fun of this fact. Hilarious.

I went over and did a quick rule check and look-over of the forum. At least the general discussion and games sub-forum anyway. Seems OK actually. I like the activity too. Rules are loose but fair and good. So since this thread's been up a day or so now, I think it's probably too late to add it to the poll selections, but I'll edit it into the OP.

Yeah no, the site itself is still a major factor if I want to register to that website or not. The sole reason I had know about this site in the first place from Yatzee video. After watching Zero Puntuction, I explore the site more and the forum to find it has both quality content (back then) AND interesting topics.

It kinda the same reason why I cannot fanthon on why people in the role play section of the website choose ONLY to comment on that section only. Ok I had seen one or two rp people commenting elsewhere on the site but I just find it strange that you only choosing one section of the site only and not exploration the rest.

Ok yes I don't explore the politics and religion or the other subsection of the past myself but I consider viewing the off topic, gaming and the article or video etc to be enough.

On many forums you can call certain people clowns and get away with it but some people who all happen to hold certain viewpoints seem to get punished a lot more for their insults than another group of people who coincidentally share a different set of viewpoints. You can easily get away with personal insults on many sites if the moderator happens to agree with your views. Say one mean thing while disagreeing with a moderators political views or their buddies on their friends list and suddenly they wield the banhammer or give you 4 infractions for one post while refusing to punish someone that insulted every member of your extended family. It is difficult to find truly unbiased moderators.

Shamus Young is one the best and most fair in that regard.

Honestly, I would have suggested Shamus's forums, but I'd kind of feel bad if suddenly 100+ users all suddenly started using his forums massively increasing his workload.

Again though, I'd also like to mention the Facepunch forums. They seem to be pretty solid and may be where I'm heading next after this. I would make another poll, but honestly, we could make polls all day about a bunch of different sites, so let's just called it. The major site we'll be migrating to, as voted, is Giant Bomb.
