This thread is pointless though... not only is it a versus thread (Which is forbidden anyway), but it doesn't have FRENCH TOAST, the ultimate breakfast champion.

I presume we're talking American-style waffles and pancakes? Because over here waffles really aren't a breakfast stuff. And pancakes are very different

I'ma say waffles though, since I don't think I've had American-style pancakes before

i like pancakes more, esp if they arent fully cooked and still gooey in the middle.
Waffles are ok, but not as good as gooey pancakes.

Forbidden? Im not doing it for a flame war, I just wanted to know if people like waffles or pancakes better.

Anyways, yeah french toast is amazing. Maybe french toast can challenge the winner of this one =P

Over in Australia we have something called Pancake Manor (or Parlour, depending on the region) and they have an awesome pancake range[footnote]Chocolate pancakes with chocolate sauce and rich cherries drenched in some form of sauce, or normal pancakes with banana and nuts and maple syrup, or a standard stack with maple syrup and strawberries (they all come with colour co-ordinated ice cream).[/footnote]

But, to be fair, if it is between regular waffles and regular pancakes (assuming normal is with ice cream, whipped cream, maple syrup and maybe a couple strawberries) then I vote waffles, they just go really well with maple syrup and ice cream.

Waffles, simply because of consistency. I've found you can have really good pancakes and really bad ones, but I've never had a bad waffle. So while the best pancake might taste better than the best waffle, the worst waffle is still tasty while the worst pancakes makes me want to puke.

In Tea-Town, we don't have waffles or pancakes for breakfast. We have what's called cereal!

(Recently discovered Krave, that stuff is amazing.)

But if i had to make a vote.. Uh... I'd probably say waffles, since i had the typical Belgian waffles when i visited Belgium which were really great. And they can go amazing as a dessert with some ice-cream and cinnamon. The only time i ever have pancakes is on Pancake Day. I forget when that is exactly.
