Dunno what to say about it, It was fun, but seemed to take the suspensful pause to the extreme. I love the comics, and the show, but

90 minutes, most of which felt spent, waiting for the zombies to pass on the freeway, and the rest stalking in the forest for the little girl.

I can see what they were going for, but I wasn't as engaged as I'd like to be.

I think that minimalist threads just asking what we think of a tv show with zero purpose or direction are bloody irritating and just stink of people just wanting to make a thread about it before anyone else.
I also think the 50 repeat threads of this crap will be highly annoying
Well I had a poll, but it disappeared. Whats wrong with wanting to start a discussion on the subject? :)

It felt just a *tad* dragged on. Just a tad though. I've been excited for season 2 to start, but this was just a little bit of a let down. The ending though, that's when I was like "oh, it's on."

The fact that you are not starting a discussion. You are just trying to rush to make a thread before anyone else with zero purpose or direction.
This is the equivalent of "how about them red socks" or "how about that weather"
So how about you and the 3 others who made this exact same thread within 2 minutes of each other all stop and actually thing of a damn purpose for the thread instead of being basically the type of person who just types "FIRST" on shit.

By commenting on them you are just bumping the threads, making you part of the supposed problem. Again, I made a poll, which if I was just trying to be the first one with a thread I wouldn't have done. I am sorry that threads without direction bother you. I have made a note of it and will start email you before hand to make sure my thread meets your standards.

Agreed, I thought making the whole episode about this one premise made it feel a little slow. I also thought a few moments where a bit predictable. However, it was well acted, even the children actors didn't annoy me (and child actors almost always get on my nerves).

Nope, I'm pretty sure it's a discussion. You can tell by, you know, the people actually discussing the show instead of wasting the thread's space with baseless accusations.

And don't bother calling me a hypocrite for this post. I didn't actually watch it but wanted to see if it was any good.

I was freaking out when the herd went through the cars, reminding myself it was just a show. I'm frustrated (in a good way) waiting to see what will happen, because it's not really following the comics in any noticeable way anymore.

You're kidding me right? The ending was ripping right from the comic.

I've been pumped for this series to return, so even though it was a slow season premier, I enjoyed it, can't wait for the rest of the season.

They Completely derailed where I thought the plot was going in the very last few minutes.

some spoils about the comic too.

I thought because they were building up how badly Shane wanted to get out of the group, and how him Rick and Carl were walking alone in the woods, We were going to get to see a Very very Iconic moment in TWD where Shane corners Rick in the Forest distraught with how him coming back derailed his relationship with Carl and Lori, gets ready to kill him, and Carl kills Shane dead for trying to kill his dad.

But when Carl Gets shot, they skip ahead a bunch of the comics content Which is understandable, but I thought the winter time issues were some of the best.

Wait wait wait, you're saying that a show based off a comic book that loosely ties to the comic book can't use the same twists as the comics? I'm actually expecting major twists like in the comic, mostly when a certain person dies.

I agree, I think they will deviate from the plot of the comic except for major plot turns (Shane being alive not withstanding). I actually like that system, they keep the cool stuff from the comic, but flush out details and character relationship better.
