Really? I love the Blood Angels! Keep me up to date with it!Iwata said:I am currently working on a 1500pts Blood Angels Death Company army. I am ever so excited!
Me too. I've played with the Sons of Sanguinius since Ye Olde 2nd Edition, and am glad to be bringing them up to speed with the new Codex. Ferocious beasts, they are. People call me crazy for having no tanks in my army, and having all my men equipped with jump packs, but as soon as the game begins, they see the method behind the madness. I'm currently on a 7-win streak. :3Nouw said:Really? I love the Blood Angels! Keep me up to date with it!Iwata said:I am currently working on a 1500pts Blood Angels Death Company army. Gotta love the Death Company. Furious charge, feel no pain... I always put my Reclusiarch leading them, and I roll a bucket of dice on their charge, and there's nothing left after that. I even wiped out a 10-man Assault Terminator squad in one single turn of fighting. Playing a whole army of these lunatics will be fun, but also a challenge. See, even though they're Troops, they can't conquer objectives. So I have to win by wiping out the enemy. Joy...
Eh, I'm only 29. If you like it, make the time.Nouw said:Unfortunately, I haven't been able to up my army. Too young probablyIwata said:Me too. Ahh, okay, i've seen it at my local store then. I intend to get all the books that are related to the WH40K universe. Starting with Eisenhorn and the heresy series.Sonicron said:Yeah, it is. It's a collection of lore about the four Chaos gods and Chaos Undivided, collected and edited by a fictional priest and interspersed with tons of notes and scribbles (it is suggested the guy's mind gradually frays the longer he deals with Chaos lore); the whole thing is written from the perspective of the Warhammer Fantasy setting, but there's 40k stuff in there as well, in the form of dreams and visions of the future.slipknot4 said:Liber chaotica? Is that the one with allot of hand written notes in it?
It's actually the other way around. Warcraft was supposed to be a Warhammer game, but Games Workshop backed out. Starcraft was Blizzard's own "original" idea.Agayek said:There is absolutely nothing deeper to Warhammer 40k then "Here's some dudes. For the last 10,000 years, they have been killing each other. Have fun".ciortas1 said:So with what everyone here has said about the Warhammer 40k universe, is it safe to say it's stupid to look for anything deep in the said universe and its stories? Because frankly, that's what people are trying to push it as, what with the Warcraft universe (which is really really tame in comparison) being a "COMPLETE AND SHAMELESS RIPOFF OF WARHAMMER", and that's a very big reason for the bad taste in my mouth when anyone mentions WH40K.
That said, I am a huge fan of the universe, as well as both Dawn of War games (the first one moreso). I've only played a handful of tabletop games though, so I can't say how good that is.
In all honesty though, Warcraft is a fairly blatant rip-off of the Warhammer Fantasy universe, while Starcraft is a fairly blatant rip-off of 40k. There is a reason for that though. Starcraft was originally going to be a Warhammer 40k game, until Games Workshop backed out. Blizzard then scrambled around and made their own universe, which is also quite interesting and good.
I'm not sure the same is true for Warcraft and the Fantasy setting, but if it's not, Warcraft borrowed heavily from Warhammer Fantasy. All you have to do is compare character designs and it becomes fairly obvious.
Well, that's always a matter of personal taste, really. I loved both DoW and DoW2.ProfessorLayton said:Woah woah woah... DoW2? Don't make me laugh. The game where Dawn of War fell on its head and forgot that it wasn't an RPG? Go back and play Dark Crusade.
If you like Eisenhorn, you should get the Ravenor omnibus as well; it's a sequel trilogy written by the same author, and in my opinion it's as good as Eisenhorn.slipknot4 said:Ahh, okay, i've seen it at my local store then. I thought it was supposed to be released at the end of this month...? How come you're able to buy it today already? (Unless you mean preorder, of course.) That said, I'm vey excited for this one as well. The Forces of Chaos said:Reminds me, need to pick up Nemisis later today.
Sometimes some stores will sell it early, Saw Nemisis in forbidden planet in london, Didn't buy it though. Will have to pick it up next time. I Remember once getting Dark Apostle in waterstones before the local GW had it.Sonicron said:I thought it was supposed to be released at the end of this month...?
