Space Marines, love the artwork and the coooolness.

But we all know the coolest thing in 40k is the Inquisition. 8D

Also, i love duels against the eldar god-thingy, (avatar or something?) , the finishing moves with both of them are epic.
The problem with the Avatar is the fact that 150 flashlight lasgun shots will likely bring him down. My bro plays the imp guard, and he has learned to keep his squad of 50 conscripts in front of his tank. When the Avatar comes near, he uses a command for an extra shot, and my avatar falls. Drives me insane. Statistically, I should have one wound left after that barrage, but statistics are never precise.
Didn't know you could take him down so fast...but hey, that's why i chose chaos. The Prince has more hp and more damage too (at least i think he has).

Also, i when i played the game for the first time, i fell in love with the finishing moves, even casual solders can do them...and bosses against commanders, etc... soooo awesome. Gotta love warhammer 40, 000.
But I have never played warhammer 2, is it much better , anyone ?
Well its more focused on the squads themselves and a smaller battlefield in general, but overall its the same experience with more complexity [wargear-wise] and no base building

EDIT: and finishing moves are still there, although i miss them a lot because i don't use that many melee units

Tyranids hands down, I like the way they work.

See a planet. Eat a Planet. See a planet. Eat a Planet. and so on.

Though I do think that the Tau look cool

Guard. There's something awesome about a bayonet, flashlight, t-shirt and enough guts to take it against a power armored maniac with a chainsaw, especially when there's untold millions of them per war. And the tanks. So many and so awesome. A treadhead am I.

Tau. They fight like a modern army, and their mobility and firepower are endlessly sweet. That and pulse rifles being the best thing since massive firearms trauma upside your enemy's face.

Black Templars and Blood Angels are the best models in the range, but I'm just plain fond of my Templars. There's something just awesome about a bunch of guys who are about as violent as your average chaos marine for truth, freedom and the imperial way (and by that I mean dogma, servitude and gratuitous overuse of firepower). Plus, they're all melee fighters so you get to pose them better

No basebuilding? well that's not very fun :(

Tough i do like to sound of complexity. But wow, i posted on this thread a long time a go. Did not expect someone to be quoted from a post this old.

Anyways, i still love warhammer, it is a great game.

Wankhammer? Only decent race is the Tau. At least i can sort of sympathize with them. And with Imperial Guard (a bit). Everyone else is batshit bonkers, and wants only one thing - kill brutally murder everyone else.

And it could have been fun to watch if everyone weren't taking it so damn seriously.
What if the player is also batshit bonkers and just wants to brutally murder everyone? I like my Tyranids, because they have plenty of sheer face-eating power.

I agree it's horribly boring to watch when both parties are deadly serious about it. If you can't stop giving a shit about everything, it saps the fun out.

Bah. Clearly Imperial Forces, not just the core Guard but also Demon Hunters, Inquisition and all other subfactions that protect the humanity.

With flashlights and flak vests against power-armored super-soldiers, aliens and mutants alike they shall win no matter how many of them brave soldiers will die!

Or eventually could just keep sitting in bunker eating canned soup while the artilery takes care of anything on the field of battle and pretty much rest of the planet <.<

More specifically, I run with Space Wolves. It's like having Vikings in power armor!

Also anyone have a funny pic of them? I can't find one.

I think I may have to change my mind to Imperial guard in honour of the tactical genius that is Ursakar E. Creed. No ordinary military mind can cunningly conceal Baneblade tanks.

Ogre Kingdoms
For the love of god man why?.

I mean sure an Ogre army looks great on the table, but their small unit sizes basically means everyone gets to unzip and piss on them when combat resolution comes around.

Lore wise I love the forces of Chaos and the Necrons and have major respect for the Imperial Guard for taking on all the other forces with just crappy lasguns, flak vests and a fire in their guts.

Edit: And of course, the Orks are funny as hell.

Imperial Guard:

'Cause when everyone else is wearing ceramite power-armor, has brutal gods on their side, are biological weapon-organisms without peer or just plain immortal...

We're the guys out there armed with what might as well be flashlights and wearing armor that is about as useful as paper against the horros of the universe.... And yet we hold the line. We hold the line for when we fall, ten more will take our place. We hold the line, because we are the living wall of the Imperium. We hold the line, because if we fall nothing stands between the Imperium and oblivion.

Dark Eldar. Let the Craftworld cowards run and hide from their true nature. We may be crashing and burning, but at least we're having a hell of a time on the way down.

Also, as they say: There's one advantage to playing Dark Eldar. Your army will never be ruined by a lame nerf. :p

What exactly are the differences between Eldar and "Dark" Eldar? My knowledge of the Eldar race is kinda limited.
