Since the Jimquisition started, I've noticed some mixed reactions. I, for one, enjoy the self-important, egocentric persona he's created, and though I don't agree with everything he comes out with the majority of the points he raises are valid and helpful. However I've also noticed a lot of negative feedback and I'm wondering why people are so dead set against him, and, after seeing how positive the Facebook comments on his last video (as of 20th June) were, if people are beginning to warm up to him.

So... are you?

I think it may be that those who dislike him have simply stopped watching. Why watch and comment on something that you dislike or that provides little entertainment to you after the first time. I stopped watching after episode 3 or so and I haven't really given him a thought since.

Jimquisition has been going for a while. He has quite a few of them. They are hit and miss with me. I love his "Piracy" and "Playing the Game Wrong" episodes.

After the first couple, I was about to forget about watching any new ones, but now I still do it when they're out.

I don't necessarily look forward to it, but I watch it when it's there. Not much else.

I don't see why people don't like him, I'm guess a lot of people don't get the humor and think he's being serious, missing serious points.

They seem to be getting it now though :D

So, where is the option for don't really care about Jim? If Jim brings out a good segment, I'll say it's good, generally it's primary school level debate stuff for Escapist regulars and I don't find his brand of humour amusing.

He was always hit or miss for me but he has been getting better over time and I have to give him props for it.

I chose yes, but without the whole part acting like he's the saviour. I think he's funny, I think his arguments are pretty decent and well-presented now.

I'd actually like to thank you for that. I appreciate someone giving something a fair shake (I think 3 eps is fair), then simply not returning to it if they decide they don't enjoy it. It's far preferable to people who keep coming back week after week to say "this still sucks," which accomplishes nothing.

I will say that his format has changed quite a bit since those first few episodes, so you might want to give it another go, if the topic he's covering that week is of interest to you. This week's, in particular, I found to be nicely on point and insightful. But if you'd rather not, that's fair, too.

I don't really care for Jimquisition all that much.

Does he occasionally raise some good points? Sure. But his persona just kinda gets on my nerves, even if it's just an act for the show. He's the type of person that, if I knew him in real life, I'd probably do everything in my power to avoid - even if I mostly agree with him on something - just because I know that his delivery of points would make me want to start swinging punches. So yeah... even if his points are valid, in my eyes, he makes the people he's representing look bad.

I can't say that he will ever "grow" on me,but I will still watch his shows to see what other topics he can muster.

Still don't care for him...however, I've seen all his videos so I've promoted him that way as much as the greatest fan.

I watch because I like the general subject matter and opinions he provides. I don't like how he performs his responses and his sense of humour. These days I don't watch the videos, but listen to them while doing something else. I will give him this though...addictive theme song that very nicely suits his persona.

It's somewhat strange, since he doesn't seem to be filling his own specific niche in the Escapist's variety of shows. In his video about sexism, I was glad for his satirical take on the issue, and thought he'd take this place. However, this doesn't appear to be the case. Still, I like him, even if it is a bit jarring for him to jump between valid points about gaming and humorous self-righteousness.

He does nothing that Yahtzee and Extra Credits don't do much better. And his over-the-top narcissim isn't funny, it's just annoying. So I pretty much stopped watching. Any good points he might have to make are overshadowed by a presentation that screams "trying too hard".

He lost his chance for a good first impression with me. And a second impression, and a third, fourth, etc. I now just don't bother to watch his videos, so i don't know if he's gotten better, but i am not about to waste my time on the off chance that i'd enjoy his work now. I don't care if the Escapist continues to host his videos, but i'm not going to watch them.

the thing was that his first episode here sucked, but every other video has shown why the escapist picked him up.
