I'd say try the demo out before purchasing it.
I've been hearing mixed opinions about it, but I like it.

Its ok, but it will die fast, no one will ever want to play as the Marines.

Yeah, they chose a really stupid map and gametype for demo.
Who wants to play deathmatch as a marine when you're better in teams and gets arser*ped by Aliens and Predators if solo? However, if you play it like I've doing (with friends over skype, so we can cooperate) it's awesome no matter what you are. Looking forward to Team Deathmatch though.
Needless to say, I've pre-ordered it.

i tried to play the multiplayer demo, when after 30 or 45 min i finally could join a server, with a lot of lag too... when i saw the gameplay i felt robbed even if it was a demo, the graphics made me puke! (even if i'm not judging by the graphics, a PS3, 360 game should have at least a decent graphic engine) the controls are simple so +1, the gameplay was meh, mostly because there were 4 predators 3 aliens and 1 marine... so matchs tend to get repetitive since you just shoot everything that moves... and if you don't move, you die.
the demo map wasn't ugly, but it was very small, and it looked pretty basic, like one of those random generated SOF2 maps... but worse.
ps: it's one of those games that you'll play 1 time and then forget in the shelf of time...

You might be disappointed if you are buying it just for the single player. The game isn't bad by any means, it's just not that good. Another game that wasn't bad but wasn't that good that comes to mind is Dark Void. It's kind of like that. Sure, it's not bad to play through once, but you won't want to own the game. It all honestly comes down to how much you think you'll like the game, versus how much you're willing to lose.
It's the first aliens game since AvP 2, so I sure as hell don't care what some pompous game reviewer said of it.

$30!? Well we pay over $100 for any release game here in New Zealand, at that price I'd buy almost any game I had a relevant interest in.Rahheemme said:
