When I was but a wee little child, with my first Xbox, and $50 staring at what seemed to be an endless rack of games also known as Toy-R-Us, was I one of the select few who bought Double-Fine's Pyshchonaughts?
Sure, I was young, wasn't up to date with the hype, and judged a game by it's cover, was I one of the select few, who didn't have to break my fingers while watching Yahtzee's review of this golden nugget of a game?
I absolutely loved the game, and thought it was one of the best I've ever played, and yet, I still do. Sure sure sure, control issues, camera problems, and some graphic glitches were a little set-back, the story, the general idea, and the way Double Fine pulled it off, made this game I STILL tell all my friends about. I still have my copy of the game, and love it very much!

To make a long story short, was I one of the only people to buy this wonderful game when it was new? Or, is there MUCH more people I've never heard about? I mean, who here, ACTUALLY bought the game, before hearing about it, or waiting a few years?

EDIT: How old were you, when you played it, if you ever did?

Really, you were bored to tears? How did THAT happen?!
Was it because I was just a small child, playing it for the first time?
I mean, I took a leap of faith when I go it, being my FIRST ever game to call mine.
I never even heard of it before catching my eye on it at Toys-R-Us.

well congratulations! You liked a game before Yahtzee said it was a good game. I didnt buy it and nor do I plan to. If my friend had it I might barrow it but that would be the extent of my willingness to get the game

Hell, when I was that age, I doubt Yahtzee was reviewing games.. And getting paid for it, at least.

I picked it up, but I never did get really far in it. I was more interested in blowing up things and killing people.

I got off XBLA. It was fun. Controls and combat could have been better but that's just me nitpicking. The first game to make laugh... on purpose.

Yeah cause up to the end it was literally just walk through the lvls easy. Then bam came the brick wall of difficulty at the end. Not to mention the humor was kinda like, "yeah i know thats supposed to be funny but its really not" it was almost painful. Plus the controls weren't exactly full of polish. It was functional but I dont think it did platforming any better than most tier 1 games. Functional yes, fun, not for me.

Ohhhh. Well, I played it when stuff like controls like that were expected. This WAS my first xbox game, might I add, so I wasn't the pickiest of lads.
But it pains my heart to know you missed the point where that was kinda standard.. (Kinda)

I played it on the PS2 and didn't see why everyone liked it so much, but with everyone singing it's praises I feel tempted to give it a second chance.

Do you all think maybe it was because of my young age that it was imprinted as my favorite game of all time?!
Or, am I just crazy, and not-up-to-date?

I downloaded it on my 360, Xbox originals and what not, I was probably 15 at the time. I quite enjoyed, the whole concept seemed rather novel to me, still does actually. Definitely on my top 25 games of all time.

Got it at best buy when was 11 and i got stuck on the level where youre in the asylum and theres that creepy fat lady whos pops around corners. Of course i went back and beat the game though, later. My fav part of the game "and the seas will run white with his rage" "i am the milkman, my milk is delicious"
