Again...You're not reading me right. I don't care if you think the game is the worst game ever. I'm saying my problem is most people these days don't seem to have a middle as in Great okay and bad. You can hate DA2 all you want, that's totally fine.

What I am simply saying is, from what I've read, people are being unreasonable and don't at all have a middle ground. So stop being sensitive on that, I don't care what you play, if you enjoy something more then that's awesome, really I'm happy for you.

Thats the other thing I just don't understand "You don't like [game name]!? You're gay!". In other words people becoming upset that someone doesn't enjoy someone elses game and get pissed about it. Very strange.
Fucking hell, I think we could be at this forever. I know what you are saying. Hell you are definitely right to a degree! People do exaggerate flaws in games they dislike, no denying that (no that's not exactly what you said. I know that, I think this is what actually happens though. I don't think people represent a different or 'wrong' opinion as it were, they just exaggerate the opinion they do have). It works the other way too, people ignore or minimise flaws in games they love.

You were making out though that because this game isn't a 10 and is instead average people hate it. The problem with that is it implies the averageness of this game is without question. Yes this may be an average game that some people over criticise, or maybe it's a terrible game that some people over praise! No way of knowing, because it's both and neither, it's subjective.

EDIT: Forgot to add, if you were speaking in generalities then I think some people will do what you say, but I can name 100's of games I would describe as distinctly average so I still disagree with your point.

I'm not trying to be a dick, I game my copy of DA:2 to a friend so I have no issue with people liking the game, I just don't like being told I'm overreacting and my opinion on a game is a lie/exaggeration. And please don't say I'm not understanding you again, because I'm not an idiot. Maybe I'm making points that seem tangential to the ones your making at times but I do get what you're saying and feel my responses are relevant.

I loved Dragon Age 2, but I think the major issue most people have with it is that it is such a huge difference between 1 and 2. They changed the way combat works, they changed the art direction and the graphics, they changed the dialogue system, they changed the story type itself.

I feel that all of these changes were made for the better (though I am by no means saying the game was perfect, the reused locations being the standout complaint). I will say that I have replayed my copy of 2 more times than 1 simply because I enjoy the actual gameplay more.

Is this still going on?

Well, I, for one, liked DA2 quite a lot. I actually liked it more than DA:O, mainly because of the much more fluid combat. I liked the characters, the story was alright- nothing amazing but still better than 'You're the hero now, go kill the dragon'. It kept me playing from the beginning until the very end, whereas I had to take a break from DA:O at some point because of the rather boring story.

Overall DA2 is a good game, I definitely don't regret preordering it. But it definitely could have been far better if BW put more work into it.

I like it , though it has a LOT that needs improvement, like more than 3 environments, Kirkwall never changes
there's a guy waiting to see the viceroy for 10 years, hes there even when said viceroy is dead

The enemies randomly spawning that just seem to exist to slow you down gets tiresome after awhile, there is no reason why you get attacked by
like 4 different gangs at night, srsly what does the city guard do
one or two a act is plenty.

That said the game had some genuinely great moments in it, and the characters were upto bioware standard , Varric , Merrill and Anders stand out in particular. Wasn't so fond of how the only person that seems to be capable of doing anything is Hawke though.

#1 rule of the Escapist:
You are never the only one.

A female friend of mine liked it. I'm sure you two have much more in common.

The game was pretty enjoyable, but they should have given it more time.

While DA:O didn't live up to the legacy of the old Infinity engine games it was certainly a step towards the old days of CRPGs. That sort of gameplay is what drew alot of PC players to DA:O in the first place. Many people were looking forward to a DA2 that refined and built upon those aspects of DA:O but instead we got a mediocre action RPG that, while not bad imo, wasn't what I and many others were looking for or expecting from the series.

I got hate because it was a completely average, unimpressive game following an awesome game.. and the devs, in interviews, blames bad reactions on fans just not being able to accept change.

Indeed.

one of the interviews actually said something like:
"Fans didn't like our Innovations"

and i just rolled my eyes.

but you know what? i'm glad they got such a BackLash, you wanna milk a great and Very Succesful Game?and Blatantly blame he fans for Everything?
COD retards may swallow this, we RPG gamers will not.

...Kidding.

Really I only state things more than once because I'm not great at explaining things nor do people seem to hear me/read me the first time.

It's not this game specifically, there's honestly a few others, their names escape me at the moment, Earth Defense Force 2017 certainly is at the top of that list. Whatever though you get my point so I'll stop repeating it before you jab your eyes with a spoon, or my head with a spork.

It would've been a good stand alone game, it simply couldn't hold up against the old-school RPG fanbase it built up with the first game. Compared to the first, the second feels boxed in and very linear.

But I still enjoy it as a fun and well-made game, I just wouldn't choose it for game of the year.

Story wise, it was interesting. However it acted moreso as a Sub-plot than a Main-plot game, because in the end you simply put things in motion, not ended them. Gameplay wise, it was a lot easier, but the more hardcore fans were pissed off by this fact. The setting was to small, though we had a larger time frame than DA1, we had a much smaller landscape that we could move in, and thus we found ourselves in a very boring world.

I still liked it, but I doubt I will play it again for a long time.
