I'm in High School and I think school is a pile of puke or shit, whatever.

I honestly won't use half that stuff when I go to a university.

It is what you make of it. Then again going to school in a small town, and being different from what other people are used to, had its advantages.

Half of what stuff? Chances are if you are going to a university, especially if you plan on getting a degree, you will be using a great deal of it depending upon said degree's requirements. Its just a lot more impersonal, but with many opportunities.

EDIT: My apologies for the double post. I was too tempted.

School was the shittiest of shit.

If I had the option, I'd burn it down and then brutally murder probably 50 or 60 people that made it completely and utterly miserable for me.

It was 15 years ago and I'd still kill people..........it wasn't a good time!

I won't use History, Geography, Chemistry, Science, Polish (;d), English (because I'm way above high school's level). The only subjects I might find useful is Math and Computer Education or however it's called in your country.

I'm going to an CE university, so I need Math to get through, and CE... well, obvious. Too bad I will have to learn programming on my own, because schools can't teach that.

So, in a way, I'm wasting time at school. I don't remember something from Chemistry, Science, History, Geography? I'll use Wiki. I don't remember something from Polish? If it's not related to language, but rather to a book or something like that... Polish wiki or I'll ignore it. Sometimes I wish we could choose subjects/classes that we would like to learn... And nothing else.

Let's see, for all the schools I've been to, the feeling was:
Pre-K: I'm assuming that I liked it, but can't really remember, seeing as I was four.
Kindergarten - 3rd: Again, assuming I enjoyed it for the most part.
3rd - 4th: Wasn't too happy, seeing as I had to move into a area that I didn't want to live in with people I hated. Also, it was probably around this time i started becoming psycho and very aggressive.
5th: Hated it. Wasn't even really in the school at this point, seeing as my entire grade was crammed into a "mini-school" (a trailer w/ no windows)
6th - 7th: Hated it. At least half of the teachers either didn't teach/spoke english/have a room, and the place closely resembled a prison. (looks even more so since they cut down the two trees they had.). Your classes didn't stay the same for long, seeing as they changed every month or so. The building wasn't heated or AC'd and you often only had a minute to go from the first floor to the fourth on the one and only stairway the school let the students use.
8th - now: Enjoyable enough, despite the fact the school doesn't have windows. Teachers are nice enough though.

School was just boring to me... hate the people there, but I blame that on going to a rich preppy school... Been going to school since I was 3... :/
And if anyone says preschool doesn't count as school, well, didn't do much more in AP Calculus... we never really did our work and screwed around the whole time...

i would have enjoyed it were it not for the huge level of stupidity that occurred in it.

during one of my lessons, i was actually held back by nearly 3 months because the rest of my class couldn't be bothered to do anything other then talk.

what a waste of my time.

I can only comment on school up to the passing of high school, so I've yet to determine the quality of college.

At first, I rather hated (elementary through high) school, but when I took it for what is was worth (and after I became a mcuh more agreeable person), I didn't enjoy it tremendously, but I liked it enough to say that I sort of liked it. I met some great people and learned interesting things. I also discovered the area of study about which I am passionate (science!).

However, school is where I had to take English Literature classes, and even though I did exceptionally well in most of them, I hated the subject matter. In spite of the fact that literature is supposed to be open to interpretation, apparently I never had the right interpretation, and my grades in my college-level courses were shameful because of it(for me, anyway; some other students may have been ecstatic had they received similar grades).

I have mixed feelings about school.

Most of my teachers were very bland and never strayed from the "read, work, test" formula. For example my Advanced Placement history teacher would read from a text book all throughout class. We were expected to cover one chapter (approximately thirty pages) and complete eight pages from a work book on said chapter each week. In addition to this homework and homework from other classes it was a wise idea to re-read what was read in class. At the end of the week we were tested on our chapter. The tests were agonizingly long (200 questions each), I rarely finished (At the start of the year I would usually not get to about twenty questions. By the end of the year I was only unable to finish roughly five). I realize these are peanuts on a two hundred question test. The reason I complain is because it was not only I who had difficulty finishing. It was just about everyone who couldn't finish. The agony this course and teacher caused me was partially redeemed by the fact that I passed my AP exam. Unfortunately this was only to be tarnished by the fact that I never used what I learned.

I always received work to complete on vacation. And it was enough work to cripple my every vacation.

Another factor that contributes to my mixed feelings about my school experience was the area of the school. The area made it a melting pot. Which was great mostly, as it exposed me to new cultures and re-enforced the spirit of tolerance. For example we had a group that was oriented to gay/lesbian/bisexual support. What made this even cooler was that there were loads of heterosexual people in the club. My school had loads of foreign exchange students as well.

On the other side of the coin, there were many "thugs" and "gangstas" at my school. Fights were commonplace in addition to the sale of illicit substances, which illustrates the lack of control staff and administration had over the school. Every time someone was arrested, I felt as though their efforts were undermined by the fact that you could find the staff smoking behind the library at any given moment in the day. :/

For learning things related to actual employment experience, school was mediocre. For learning things about life itself, school was excellent.

No. It's filled with some good people, but on a whole it's a breeding ground for idiots, punks, and fucking sickos.
Bloody exactly!

Although school isn't good for education, you need to learn everything in good time to learn it properly.

Work your ass off until you learn it.There you go.

School is, more or less, where you learn to be you. It is where you decide, this is how I am going to act around people for the rest of my life. I, for example, was fucking weird as shit in middle school. In high school though, I was more out going, liked by almost everyone, and really developed the personality that serves me well today.

It's very important. However, I voted good, on the question of how it was. I didn't mind the socializing, but I hated the school work.

Well, I left school 13 years ago. Didn't like it while I as there although it as a very good school both in terms of teaching standards and behavior.
There was a year reunion on Saturday just gone while, by pure coincidence, I was in the area visiting friends...but I only opened the letter telling me it was on an hour ago so I missed it. Doh!

Voting as my 15 year old self: "school is shit"
as me now: "school was good"
