Not if you play games that help with hand eye cordination. And playing guitar hero helped me with my hand movement for Bass.

No, because it brings enjoyment and happiness to me.

Also, you accidentally posted this twice.
Yep anything that makes you feel happy and have fun is never a waste of time.

Would you say gaming is a waste of time (fun as it may be)? I am an avid gamer but yes Gaming is overall a waste of time for me. Fun and everything but often its depressing that I spend so much time doing it.

*sigh*
I have posted on another related topic something similar to this.
Basically my theory is that in future with an increasing no, of people playing video games it will become more the norm and therfore people wont feel as isolated or depressed for spending such time on it.

I used to get depressed at games but you just need to take a break to put things in perspective i think.

A wast of time is when you regret doing it like being stuck in a weighting room for three hours, If you enjoyed the time it can't be a wast of time. Gaming falls into the fun category.

"Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time"

If there's a famous quote for it then it it's true.
It can feel like it is, but that's society's fault. I often feel like that after I have personal gaming days (a chance for me to catch up on games I've missed due to work, etc). Then I realise it's no different to getting stuck into a good book or having a movie marathon. People do those with no remorse, why not gaming?

My parents said that gaming was a waste of time. But after
finishing Age of Mythology i was given a test on the Ancient
Gods during school. When i got home and showed them my A
they never questioned gaming again.

It provides enjoyment. That's all we can ask for, it's only when people can't understand the fun, or don't consider enjoying yourself a credible way to pass time that it seems like a waste of time.

Yes it is a waste of time. but so is most things in life. Waiting 5minutes for a train that's wasted time standing there doing absolutely nothing. Playing sports that's at least an hour of your life wasted too. People enjoy gaming and sports which are a waste of time but the sense of enjoyment clearly outweighs the fact that the person wasted so much time doing it. Once you begin to regret playing games so much, that's when you begin to think that it was a pointless waste of time. Personally I know a lot more about computers now then I ever did before i started gaming. Besides how else would you let hours pass you cant sleep all day.

No, it's not wasted time. It's time spent with the purpose of bringing you joy. Now, if you find your own personal enjoyment to be a futile and unnecessary goal, then yes, gaming is a waste of time. If you play a game you don't enjoy, that might be a waste of time. If you're playing games you enjoy, then that's not wasted time.

However, there is a matter of distributing your time between the various goals and responsibilites in your life. Gaming might not be a waste of time, but it might be a mismanagment of time when there are other things you should be doing...
