I usually play the good guy, just because I have more admiration for heroes.
Even all the way down to not killing the bad guys if I have a choice, not a terribly effective strategy in real life but hey, it's a game.

Its been covered fairly well, but there are multiple reasons why most of my characters end up good (especially if it is some generic binary choice early in the game). My main reason is that I don't like being a dick. There may be times where an in game character has screwed me and I want revenge or something of that nature that pulls me towards a darker path, but generally speaking the evil role is just relegated to dickishness. Secondary to that is the lack of forethought put into evil characters in general (unless it plays into the story), that stops me from picking evil when it is a binary choice, as I know that most evil is done poorly, whereas some good is done poorly.

Really it comes down to how good the game is, and how well it was written. If the game was fun enough, I'll do another play through and focus down evil choices, if the story was good enough, I might even make evil my first playthrough. It all depends on the game in question though.

Almost all of my runs are good. I have a really tough time being evil, I just find it very anti-me. I might get around to an evil run. I've gotten halfway through Mass Effect and 3/4 through KOTOR. I don't think I've ever completed a game under evil.

Generally, if a game has a karma meter, I end up taking the 'good' path; I just don't have it in me to make the evil choices. I always feel guilty if I do.

And in Watch_Dogs case, it's my understanding that if you are on the 'good' end of the meter, civilians might be more receptive to you/help you out. And in another case, in Red Dead Redemption, having high/good Honor was more beneficial than low honor, since you got discounts in every town but one in RDR with high Honor.

Good because it usually benefits you more vs bad. However I don't like the shining knight type of good, and I prefer to a lighter gray with no innocent deaths... Besides GTA5. What I hate in watch dogs is that most people will end up running people down so your going to have to save allot.

Done right is a game like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, those pre-rendered execution scenes you can do on ANYONE where just awesome, and I --discovered this when I attempted it on Jensen's Girlfriend's mother. At that point, I decided Jensen's augmentations had made him a sociopathic serial killer. So a couple of minutes later when I asked for a quest item from some guy, friendly, and he said he couldn't until I did X chore for him.... well he lost his head, and I collected my quest item and went on my way. It felt organic. I felt like a monster.
Wow. Didn't even realise that was option, I'd just presumed quest givers were immortal... well I know what I'm doing next playthrough

Ot: I tend to be good first BUT always do the opposing morality in a second playthrough
Only exception is when I can be I can netural/choice by choice without screwing myself over (Fallout 3 & NV for example).
