It's all media hype and we'll all be fine in the short term... and most likely long term!
But, I do think we need to do something about all the world's governments... they suck!
We need people in power who actually give a crap and want to make the world a better place!
Or am I being too naive by hoping for something non-eutopian, yet better than this crap!
Guess which I voted for... after that rant... it's most likely very obvious, form my first line.

I think that the peak-oil problem has the potential to lead to economic crisis, food/water shortages, and panic and stupidity.

I voted for stupidity, since I think mankind will wipe itself out long before a natural disaster hits the planet (or the sun engulfing the planet for that matter).
