I'd take the cash and gain wisdom and understanding through life experience.

Get wisdom, then use my new-found wisdom to acquire wealth. Simply really. Who says I can't have my cake and eat it too?
Likewise.

Mmm, delicious cake.

I would take the money. I have the horrible feeling that a true understanding of life, the Universe and everything would quickly drive me to suicide.

Wisdom sounds good, seeing as I work in the city (London) at the moment. Great decisions on the stock market, and wise investments sound like a bonus that can earn me more than I'm being offered

Well the issue being true wisdom needs to obtain on your own through experience, so I'd take the wealth normally.

But let's pretend that someone could magically give you wisdom somehow, well the way you describe it was pretty limited, I'm already pretty aware of things, I'd still take the wealth. Even if I don't have things figured out, it's kinda fun to get there, and just accepting it would deprive me of that.

Well, I'm pretty secure in the amount of wisdom and understanding I possess now. I'm no great philospher or super genius, but I get by.
What I am is poor as all hell, so I'll take the money please.

Wisdom, because then I would be to understand the best way to get money.

But then again, it works both ways and I could always hire scholars to teach me wisdom.

Sorry but I taking the money. I would like to think my current wisdom well ok my understanding is fine. Well ok I will have even more of it to be better at understanding. Unless the extra wisdom and understanding can get me somewhere (like a high pay job or something) I taking the wealth.

Now that I've thought about it I'd probably take the money, I can make due with my current intelligence and I've alway had fantasies that only very large amouts of money can make possible.

Actually, I've already determined philosophically that I don't need to chase after big wads of cash in life. It'd be nice, but it's not a necessity. Wisdom and understanding is more valuable.

The money.

I take joy developing my own understanding of the world, not just being given it on a silver plater.

Wisdom and understanding for me.

I always want to know and understand things, so I guess this would be the knowledge whore in me talking. Besides with that I can create something and make a huge profit off of it. Can money do that?

I'd go for wealth, since I already have enough knowledge and the potential to become wise as I get older.

Well I might take the money, because it says it will be enough to live off of comfortably for the rest of your life. So if I continued to work, all the money I made thereafter would be just for pure fun and travel. I also will choose it over the wisdom and understanding because you said it wasn't "vast" wisdom and understanding so what if it was just specific to one topic that wouldn't do me any good or I didn't find interest in, like the vast wisdom and understanding of the life cycle of a blade of grass?

I feel like this is a win-win situation.

With total wisdom and understanding, the need for wealth or perhaps the rapid attainment of wealth will be yours to know.

On the other hand, with total wealth, you can fund your attainment of wealth or not bother because you are already wealthy.

I picked wealth because I enjoy attaining wisdom rather than having it just given to me. In fact, by suddenly having all wisdom, I would find life completely meaningless. There's a reason why the wealthy still want things.
