I left the large University I was going to, made some money over two years, rented an apartment and reapplied to a smaller local college. Now I go on my own time, and I'm lucky enough to manage all three.

Sleep? Please. I study chemistry, I don't have time for that luxury.
I mean, it's 3:20am and I still haven't finished looking up stuff for lab on Monday.

My social life went away when I went to college. Not because of college, but the fact that all my good friends went to different colleges...

I picked sleep and grades, so I only really get to have a social life on breaks. This means that on breaks I tend to go a little crazy partying and end up waking up hung over with no idea where the hell my pants, socks, or shoes are.

I'd say social life and then whatever you feel like at the time. College, I think, is more about getting used to interacting with people and figuring out where you fit that big old melting pot of society. Besides, as an undergrad you can pretty good grades with a minimum of effort. So get out there and socialize!

PS Drinking and crazy parties are not all that there is to the college social life. I alternated between beer pong, magic the gathering, and lan parties. It's amazing how many different kinds of people you'll meet, and how suprisingly well they'll all be able to get along.

I do sleep and grades, but If I was more confident I would try to add a social life in there. I don't really sleep for some reason.

Go back in your thirties and "sleep and grades" become the very obvious choices. College is wasted on the 18-22 set.

Edit---Unless you go to Arizona State or UC-Chico or Dumbass (er, UMass) Amherst.

Then I'll kill it for you. "Grades and Games." I routinely skip sleep to play video games. Yeah, I look like crap most days. But nothing beats a session of Persona 4 followed by 3 hours of studying for a math test. Who needs sleep? [sub]I need help. Send a medic.[/sub]

I love sleep too much to give that up, and there's not much point in paying for college if I can't keep my grades up, so I pick those two. Fortunately, I do still find time to have a healthy social life, but that's the first to go when I'm short on time.

Well Grades are the first and foremost, due to the fact that, over here in GB anyway, you're paying around £3000 a year to study, plus (maybe) an additional £3000 or so to live. If you come out with nothing, even if you had fun, the money is pretty much wasted. In all fairness, the point of uni (or college) is to come out with a degree.
Compared to what you would pay over here in the States for a decent school, that's dirt cheap. That's $10,000 USD, which is cheap for one year of tuition at an American college.

Oh, and I chose grades and social life. Adequate sleep is for the weak.

Grades are much more permanent than friends, and you will have forgotten most of them in a few short years.

Sleep is much harder to escape than the aforementioned frivolity of social contact.

Ergo, option 2 is the most logical.

I don't always sound like Spock, honest.

Well I'll be there in a couple years and for me it'll be grades and social life. I barely sleep already so it won't really be a change for me.

Architect school has so far left me trying to juggle all three. Doesn't work. So sleep and grades it is.

True story btw. A friend called me the other day. Him: "Hey, whatcha doing?" Me: "I'm still at school, doing work." Him: "Oh right, it's only 7pm." I need a life.
