Ah, the World Cup, when even if you despise football, you seem to go to the pub or watch your national teams macthes in public and share the enthusiasm with your fellow country people. But loyalties aside, one for the footie fans or those who can be bothered to answer. I think this has been up before but still oh well I just fancy making a topic. Anyway who's gonna win the final? Simple question, tell us who and why and how and when and where the winning team will win the World Cup, tar very much.

I'd love to see France win, but honestly it's more likely to be 2002 all over again. Spain are a great side, but a European team has never won it outside of Europe and Spain have a pretty poor record at World Cups. I think it'll be Brazil.

I don't like soccer very much. America generally doesn't put to much into it. Meh. Our team sucks too.

Same here. I see myself watching one single match, and that's whatever is on during the day on the 17th June. Because on that day I'm going out with friends for someone's birthday, and he said that while the girls are all spending ages getting ready and spending hours to do what takes us guys half an hour, we lads will probably have a few beers and watch the World Cup. Oh, and my mum wants to borrow my laptop so she and her workmates can watch a few games while they're working (they're all office-based).
Aside from that, since I hate football, I won't bother watching unless England get to the finals. As an Englishman born and bred, despite my odd name, I'll be supporting Englan to win. Of course, we won't, we never make it past the quarter-finals, but I'll still be cheering them on anyway. Normally I'm a rugby man, though...

Brazil. Obviously. England will be knocked out in the first round.

I watched the Euro cup once. 2004. All Englands matches. Rather enjoyed it (mainly because vanilla coke was still around at the time), then ofcourse Urs Meier...

IT'S CALLED FOOTBALL. It's not like it's a sport where people carry the ball in their hands, whilst wearing armour and stopping ever five minutes when someone gets tackled.

But personally I reckon Brazil, it's about time they took it back...

Haha asking about the world cup on a site full of nerds? Personally I think Brazil will take it. I can't see us winning at least.

Yes I clicked England because I am patriotic. And stupid. We don't stand a chance but COME ON ENGLAND anyway.
I suppose David Seaman is retired by now... or is he still playing?? Anyway, in his prime this guy was one of the greatest goalies I've ever seen.

OT: Yeah, I don't care much for soccer (not anymore, that is), but as the OP says, even I get swept up in the excitement during these events.
As always, my country (Germany) has a fair chance at winning, but they always seem to fumble at the last minute. Plus, because of that guy Boateng behaving like a murderous bastard on the field we've been deprived of our captain and star player, Michael Ballack.

Aside from our team I think Brazil, Spain, France and Italy all have a good shot at winning the World Cup.

Soccer, the only reason I love it is because it is giving me a five week holiday that started today. But there is NO way that I am going to waste that holiday actually, you know, watching it. Yes, a South African that doesn't watch - not even when he is bored in a pub - Soccer. Not even the World cup happening in his own country.

Not everyone watches sport, I would rather go OCD with a toenail clipper than have to watch a full Soccer or cricket match.
