In my Elementary school, things were the worst because it was a school of grades 1-8, and every class had recess at the same time. Therefore, the first and second graders pretty much got beat up every day. I was one of the only ones who fought back, and by the time I was in second grade they didn't wanna bother with me because I was more difficult to subdue than most, and because I'd help out my friends and such.
Middle school I was pretty much the invisible kid aside from a couple people who would constantly bother me until I shoved them on the floor like most people here did, and then they stopped.
High school, all the little cliques started to become more and more exclusive and you could stereotype nearly everyone in the school. I only got bullied for being around someone else, though. Like some jock sees me hanging out with someone who's apparently his girlfriend who's sitting at the goth table trying to avoid him...It was stupid. By 11th grade I realized that most people are all talk and no show, so I started to just spit back in their faces and be the one cracking the jokes because it didn't really matter anymore. 12th grade I went back to some of the kids who screwed with me earlier and punched them in the face.
Biggest regret is that I didn't stand up for myself as much as I should have, but I advise people to just fight back even if your parents tell you not to, because there was a time where I was choked and decided to not fight back because I didn't want to get suspended, and I really wanted to beat the living hell out of the kid, but I figured I'd act as the 'better man.' What happened was both of us were suspended for the same amount of time, with the same referral: "Physical confrontation." Pretty lame.
College, everyone seems much more relaxed/laid back and tolerant, so I can go for an IT degree and still be cool.
