Didn't the first one do a lot worse than everyone expected? I didn't particularly like it, the single player was a bit short and repetitive and the multiplayer was some of the worst i have ever played in my entire life. I guess that ea or whoever is publishing it doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a potential flop.
I like it, but it's very clearly a B grade game. It's presentation just oozes this. However the sequel is an improvement and at this rate the third of fourth game might be an A grade title.
Rented it and played through the first one in a night in co-op with my friend, the fact it's a bad game made it funnier and we got quite into it.
I want to rent this and complete this in the same fashion, really getting into the weird bond the dudes have going and getting overly excited about kills with high fives flying everywhere.
I liked the first one enough to finish, but the thing is I only liked it. Once it's a little bit cheaper I'll pick it up because I don't think the 40th day is worth £40.
I bought it on budget when I was looking for a good co-op shooter, with zero expectations. Blasted through it in an afternoon with a friend and some beers. Good for a bit of throwaway fun (especially for £7) but I'm not exactly breaking down the shop doors to get at 40th Day.
I thought it was Meh, sure it was fun to play with on Co-op, but it got boring and we ended up switching to other games. It's a game that dosen't really deserve hype and with those reviews, it's proably only worth a rent.
