What the hell is sex? [sub]I'M JOKING[/sub]

13. Direct TV offered three months free of HBO, and I had a TV in my room. I recently downloaded the movie for sentimental reasons, damn was it hard to find.

Damn I knew it when I was around 6-8. I learned the finer details of it in middle school 5 years later in sex ed which consisted of a visual conception (sperm goes to egg deal not the actual act although that would have been nice) and the actual birthing sequence of a baby coming out of a woman's vagina in all its bloody and screaming and balloon-inflating-out-of-a-fleshy-hole goodness with (I believe) no censorship.

This was in California so in hindsight I am pretty surprised.
(It was during a science/biology class that also taught about natural selection, dna, and all the biology goodness)

Year 6 (About when I was 10-11.)

Year 7 when it was into detail. (11-12.)

Yet to put it into practice.

With great horror, I was thrust into sex education at the ripe age of 10. At which point they made us watch a woman give birth (incidentally the mother of a friend of mine... yes, I did the maths) and watch two people have sex. I wasn't happy. I sort of GOT sex at about 12 or 13.

I think I always knew. It was never any big secret, nor did my parents have a talk with me about it. I grew up on a countryside and had an interest in biology.
So I always knew how reproduction worked biologically. And how it worked with different kinds of animals. I watched mating rituals of birds, mammals, frogs, although I always had the most interest in the invertebrates.

However, the social side of it, and how humans have it for enjoyement didn't really interest me before I was 18 or so.

We did have sex ed in school, where we were taught how to masturbate (when we were 14 or so), and what different kinds of sexual practises there were (and how one should respond to them), but I wasn't particularly interested in it back then.

We had had human biology in elementary school as well, and the parts and function of the reproductive organs, but it didn't really go into the techical aspects of sex.
