Poll: What age did you start playing M rated games

I was 9 or 10 when I played Half-Life 1. Shortly after Half-Life I played gta 3
I've played other games before it on the Sega MegaDrive where you shoot humans/aliens/mutants but I don't know whether they were M rated.

I was 6, that was when my brother and I got the original Perfect Dark for our N64.

I was raised on the straight and narrow, so I didn't play my fist M-rated game (9 doors incidentally) until I was well over the threshold. But then my brother, he's 14, took it and played it immediately after and was completely unfazed so I don't know what to make of that.
