I started out liking beer, then got onto wine, was a keen spirits drinker for a while (used to love absinthe) and even went through a mead phase, but having said all of that absolutely nothing beats a good, cold beer.

I like whiskey a whole lot, especially bourbon. I enjoy the other alternatives as well, although I've never been able to fully get my head around beer for some reason.

Amarula is my current favorite, is a south african drink somewhat like baileys, you drink it with milk and it's just lovely, a sipping drink instead of a steamo drink

I would say Vodka preffered mixed with something. I also like wiskey, but only on a rare occation. I usually just hit the mixed drinks, beer or shots.
I remember still that party where i shotguned a coffee mug with 69% vodka mixed with 80/20 with 45% - Not smart.

Which alcohol do you prefer drinking in general? I prefer vodka. It tatses like shit but I hate the PROCESS of drinking, but the effect is awesome.

Sorry if there are any typos, I'm a bit drunk. I tried to get them all out.
Woah woah woah there. Where's Scotch AND Bourbon? I say Scotch, so I vote Whiskey, other guy says Bourbon, so he also votes Whiskey?

I don't really drink (since I don't like the alcoholic aftertaste), but the only drink i've been known to enjoy is white wine (Or the sweetened alcoholic drinks. But then I might just as well get the cheaper and sweeter alternative of soft drinks, and be rid of the alcoholic aftertaste)

Nice cold pint is usually my top, be it beer or cider. Close second is a Jagerbomb and just behind would be a nice vodka and coke. None of the cheap, sweet shit all the pubs round here serve though, some nice Smirnoff Vodka.

I tried some whisky once but it must have been cheap because it tasted like shit. Didn't even taste nice in a Muller Corner, which is when you know it's crappy (or you're drunk enough already)

Well, I voted beer but what I really mean is Ales and Guinness, which aren't strictly beer but close enough and they get you very, very, very drunk.

Ethyl alcohol. /chuckles
Good grief, how old-fashioned are you?! These days we call it 'ethanol', old boy! =P

I like ethanol. I've heard some bad stuff about methanol.
Way to go get blind drunk (and I mean that literally). Still, you know how to cure methanol poisoning? With copious amounts of ethanol, yeah!

And in so saying:

Now, in a squeezy bottle, for easy topping up!

Absinthe?
... how's your liver treating you these days?!

OT: Depends what I'm doing...

At dinner, nothing beats a good fruity red wine.
When I'm out with friends, I'll always get a double shot of whiskey.
When I'm in with friends, I'll have brandy.
When I'm already drunk, I'll drink anything except sambucca and cocktails.

Aye, it's a bit vague / lacking. Scotch isn't even an option in the poll (except for under 'Other'), since it's whisky, not whiskey.

Irish + bourbon = whiskey.
Scotch + Canadian = whisky.
