So I started to watch a series called Fanboy Confessional on the space channel recently, and I'm really starting to like the show.
So basically, they explore and take a look at different kinds of groups and fan bases to help people get a better kind of understanding of them.
They have Steampunk, cosplay, furries, Larp, zombies/horror, and a real life superhero one, were they showed a group of people who dress up in their own 'superhero' costumes and help their neighbourhoods and cities like a real one would but their own different sort of way, besides fighting super-villains.

Here's link if you wanna check them outhttp://www.spacecast.com/fanboyconfessional.aspx

But anyways I want to know what kinds of groups the people of the escapist are in or are curious about.

Edit: Sorry I forgot to add a other or movie option for the poll...But still put what your a fanboy of in the thread.

I am a total Tarantino fanboy. Which means I'm also a huge fan of Robert Rodriguez, Steve Buscemi, Sam Jackson, the late Sally Menke, Lawrence Bender...

I guess I'm a superhero fanboy out of that list. I'm not an obnoxious fanboy of anything really unless someone dares to ask me to talk about my favorite series...

Freelancer is the one game I'll gladly wave a fanboy flag for :D

The Dresden Files. And the Codex Alera. So I guess I'm a Jim Butcher fanboy.
So I'm not the only one. Did you read Ghost Story yet?

OT: Guns. I'm a NRA Life Member and a annual CRPA member with 10 guns.

Indeed I did. I even started a thread about it in Off-Topic. Didn't get many replies, though.

Nice. I had it preordered and read it the day it came. I will hunt it down and add my own post.

Warhammer 40k. Who doesn't like the idea of space-bourne battle-cathedrals?
Oh, and Discworld. SI NON CONFECTVS, NON REFICIAT.

I am a fangirl of the "Tales of..." series of JRPGs, Classical Greek history and mythology, Diet Coke, root beer, the poet H.D., and Edgar Allan Poe. Yes, my fangirl-ish interests are broad. Fear me.

I've never cosplayed before, but I'm kind of interested in it. If I ever do, it'll definitely be steampunk themed.

You know, that's a lie, I HAVE sort of cosplayed before... I just remembered... I've never played Risk without wearing a viking helmet and a cape, if that counts? Its been a long time since I've played Risk though.

Starship Troopers, Warhammer 40,000, pretty much all the bands I like and Relic Entertainment.

I'm a hopeless Rivethead. I once belched, and steam came out of my mouth. I usually incorporate some level of steampunk into most of the things I wear. Some days, it's subtle, a nice crisp white collared shirt and Victorian style vest. ther days, it's obnoxious and I wear an Aethermometer the size of both my fists on my wrist.

I dunno...
I just make a terrible fangirl. I don't obsess, have no interest in fanart or fanfic, lose interest in almost anything in a matter of weeks, at best.
I enjoy the people in some fandoms; I enjoyed MLP enough and the fans are so nice and happy, but I don't even think about MLP unless it comes up. I suppose the one thing that could have gotten me a bit fangirlish was .hack, as it was eight or so years ago.
But now I can't stand what they've done with it, so meh to it. Even then, though, the very notion of being a weeabo felt... wrong.
Turns out I was around people who I didn't really fit in well with, and wasn't challenged by school. When I got into college and became excited about what I was studying, any interest in that and fangirl-ness in general was gone.

I do wind up osmosing a bizarre collection of information. For having a level 30 and a DK on someone else's account, I could tell you an aweful lot about every pre-cata WoW race. Beats me if I can even remember the name of the big bad demon guy who played a huge role in the WoW lore up to Cataclysm.
Just as I could tell you plenty about Van Gogh's life and work, but I can't remember the contemporary in impressionism that he lived with for quite a while and exchanged portraits, wanting to make an artist's colony in a small town and...
You get the idea.

I'll go vaguely mingle with fandoms because I can enjoy the subject in small doses. Hard-core RP bores me, but sometimes playing a goodie-goodie Tauren spying on the sinister plots of a warlock elf, then getting caught because its a damn tauren in full armor trying to sneak is hilarious.

And modeling robot ponies is really fun. :3

I'm more or less done with fangirling and am now just a regular fan of most things, but I'll tell you I stan so hard for pretty much the entirety of ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com. I also stan for a bunch of stuff I loved as a kid. But I stan privately. Getting into fandom isn't really my thing anymore.

Touhou... although I'm actually concentrating on just one game (Touhou 6). But I've never actually concentrated on one game in all my life. Plus the fact that its memes are everywhere on the internet has caught me and exposed my fanboy side. I just wish I could beat that game and get it over with, especially after the fact that I'm finally able to get to Remelia Scarlet repeatedly when I know I'm in the mood to play the game. Ughhhh... but as they say in French: "C'est la vie." It's like a bitter sweet deal, the art and memes are spectacular but the game is freaking HARD.

Let's see, I also like Spoony of The Spoony Experiment. He's awesome, and he's my personal favorite out of the guys from That Guy With The Glasses.
