Just wanted to ask fellow Escapists what people think so far of the Wii U.
Myself, I remain cautiously optimistic. While the Wii was undoubtedly a huge success for Nintendo, there were quite a few things that just didn't satisfy about it.
Fortunately, the information we've been given seems to be mostly positive, (save for a few unsubstantiated rumors), with Darksiders II and Assassin's Creed III announced for launch, and HD support very likely.
Honestly, with the casual craze sparked by the Wii now being taken over by iOS and Android games, it looks (to me, at least) that Nintendo is going to be focusing on a more traditional audience.
I'm also guessing the online support will be improved, as the 3DS eShop has already shown vast improvement over the Wii Shop and DSi Shop Channels. Now that Nintendo is more financially secure than they were at the end of the Gamecube era, I'm guessing they won't gamble everything on a unique idea alone like with the Wii.
I'll be reserving judgment until the official information is released this E3, though.
