The first (modern) Shadow Warrior was pretty boring IMO, bought it for just 7 bucks and I still regret it.

I am most excited for Battlefield 5. Sure its just another spunkgargleweewee game, but BF4 is the best multiplayer FPS as of now in my opinion. With the graphics of Battlefront and the improvements from BF4, BF5 should be pretty great. As long as there is more involvement from DICE LA and less from DICE Stockholm.

I'm sceptical of both Shadow Warrior and Doom 4 because they risk, in my view, the monotony of slaughter. I don't find FPS games where you're constantly shooting things to be particularly enjoyable. The last Shadow Warrior was extremely prone to it, and Doom 4 has the same airs, although time will tell there. I am vaguely worried that Doom 4 is chasing the audience that liked Wolfenstein: The New Order, because that game also suffered from a droning monotony of combat for the sake of combat and a game structure that was far too padded out for the story it delivered.

I'm quite interested in Homefront because the developers have pedigree and the concept is interesting. Star Citizen looks to be a CryEngine FPS showcase in a way Homefront could never hope to be, but I'm sceptical about the stability of the project.

Dues Ex 4 looks promising, of course.

There's also Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, yet another CryEngine game. I'm not a huge fan of sniping games, but I am a fan of the developer's WWII CryEngine FPS Enemy Front that came out in 2014, so I am watching this one with some interest.

I'm not touching on the "manliness" assertion, because like I said, love-hate relationship with Doom. The whole "manliness" argument is firmly in the "hate" end of the spectrum.

Titan fall 2 (that's this year right?)
It's been stated that TF2 (heh, acronyms) will be released in EA's 2017 fiscal year - in essence, between April 2016 and March 2017. My bet is on 2017.

Personally looking forward to TF2 if only because of a proper singleplayer campaign, but never played TF1, so I'm kind of in the dark on the franchise.

Now that I know it's multi-platform and was made by the MW games devs, I am interested. As long as the singleplayer isnt a sequel to the first one.

Doom is the game I'm looking forward to.

I have no interest in overwatch, I play Team Fortress 2. The only significant thing it has over TF2 is new-game hype.

You can keep your stupid modern shooters. Homefront, Cods of Duty, they're all a mediocre blurr. Original Homefront was garbage, even.

Don't know anything about Shadow Warrior.

It's not on your list but I'm impatiently waiting for Squad to get more vehicles, specifically transport choppers. If you can fly them inverted into loops like in Battlefield 2 I'll be playing that game forever but even without I'll play the shit out of it.

DE:MD is my choice from that list. Mostly because the other on your poll are games I have no interest in. But, honestly, I am looking forward to that game a whole lot. It's right up my alley of sweet spot kind of games. Cybernetic sneakiness baby! Oh yeah!

Doom for me; what can I say, I have a certain itch that needs to be scratched.

It's between Shadow Warrior 2 and DOOM for me, and I'm gonna have to go was SW2. They previous SW was a real delight for me.

I'm skeptical about both, as the monotony of these kind of game can become a real problem, but I'm more dubious about DOOM. Judging from the promotional material they're leaning to heavily toward the 'cinematic' experience with all its little kill animations. I got unreasonably annoyed with Far Cry for having to go through a short animation every time I wanted to loot a body, shoving that kind of thing into the middle of combat could very well be infuriating. They're also heavily pushing the whole "oldschool", "no taking cover" angle in the game's design. Maybe I'm being too skeptical but at this point in my gaming life I'm just not willing to trust that these guys actually understand what about that era of shooter made those games fun.

So yeah, I'm gonna go with Shadow Warrior 2. Probably 'cause I liked the last one and haven't had a chance to see any of the marketing stuff so I can nitpick and speculate.

Doom. But only because I want to see how well it lives to the hype.

Shadow Warrior 2 for me.
Deus Ex is probably the most anticipated game on my list, but not in the FPS department.

I'm also waiting for new DooM, but more due to morbid curiosity - i wonder what they'll screw up:^)

So with that disclaimer out of the way, I'm most curious about "Homefront Revolution" (gotta get the curve ball in there early as I can't imagine it's going to get a lot of votes).
to me homefront looks utterly generic.
And that's fine, you're allowed to think that. To me, Shadow Warrior 2 looks boring (I hate arcadey shooters like Serious Sam and it looks a lot like Serious Sam) and Doom 3 did nothing to impress me and I don't see what Doom is doing to set it apart (I saw "Clueless Gamer" with Conan playing it and all it looked like was a gorier version of Doom 3). You may be right and Revolution will be a generic mess while Shadow Warrior/Doom will be different than what I expect but frankly, until any game comes out I don't give them any credit. Any game can look good before it's released so I find no real need to pay attention to them until they actually come out and give me some real life footage with some real live reviews.

Different folks, different strokes.
outside xbox just posted some gameplay a day ago of homefront revolution. I'd check it out.

OT: Deus Ex MD is the only one I'm excited for I did have some desire for Homefront Rev but unless the end product looks entirely diffrent it's not going to be anything but a 5$ buy

what shadow warrior 2 did best is make level design more open and less linear. they have now bigger budget so they can make it.

My friends are really hype about overwatch. I am not sure I care personally.

But I can tell you what I am majorly hyped for: Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Oh yeah, that is the good shit there. Loved the last one, gonna play this next one a lot too.

I chose Homefront Revolution because I'm a rebel *wink-wink*. A question to the op: you wouldn't happen to be related to this guy?[link]http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view/TheGamerElite33[/link] Or did you just forget your password? The similarities are above mere coincidence. Not wanting to make fun of you or anything, just curious.

I mean if you really are two different people I'll be mindblown to next year.

I just wanted to thank you for reminding me. I'd forgotten all about Diesel's 'posts' - it does my heart good to know that the art of trolling was truly alive and well back in the day. :)

All FPS are the same except those with story and RPG elements. And they remained mostly the same until the invention of chest-high-walls in which all FPS now contain those.
Not very interesting. Highly repetitive.
Borderlands was loads of fun. Fallout too.
