I guess it seems cool enough, but with the game of the year edition of Fallout 3 with sweet DLC just coming out, I'd use my money to buy that (or the DLC), even if i had the original Fallout 3 (which is precisely what I did). If you've played Fallout 3 and the DLC to death, then it might be worth a rental to check out before buying, but otherwise Fallout 3 is almost certain the better wasteland FPS/RPG game.

I'll be buying it, and I'm a tightwad with my money. :D I just hope the game has the longevity of Fallout 3. :D

I really like the idea of a MMOFPS, however, I really disliked the graphics style that they used. I dislike it to the point where I wouldn't play the game. APB looks like a far superior MMOFPS anyway.

Ok, let's stop comparing it to Fallout 3, it's not Fallout 3. It's closer to a Halo / Diablo hybrid set in the wasteland.

Secondly, if you like Diablo's loot hunting and questing aspects then definitely get it. That's what this game has in spades. It combines it with twitch shooter and vehicle mechanics ala Halo, but the real replayability comes from the Diablo side of the coin. If you didn't like Diablo, you won't like this.

Well, it's definitely been getting rave reviews. But if you don't like FPS games, then you may not have the same appreciation for it. I've also been hearing that the single-player campaign can be almost unbeatable with certain classes. So if you're not into co-op, it also might not be the game for you. Personally, I'm not a fan of multiplayer or FPSes, so this one's not high up on my list of "must-buys". I'll probably check it out eventually, when the hype dies down (and the price with it).

I got Borderlands on the 18th (Gamecraze effed up and released it early, so gamestop did too) and it is EPIC, I love everything about it

my ONLY problem is that I wish there was a bit more emphasis on exploration, I wanted a bigger world where I could explore in vehicles, other than that, this game is PERFECT

BUY IT! BUY IT NOW! *foams at mouth and drops dead*

I went to a buddy's house last night and played until I was level 5 (Just beating the first boss).
Meh.
Maybe I'd have to get much further in it, but I don't see what the fuss is about. It's not bad, don't get me wrong. I could see it being fun with 3 other friends running around. But I was really underwhelmed. The art style is great, the controls are ok (Standard FPS, nothing fancy), but the actual gameplay? Meh. I can do without buying this one. Maybe a rent, but otherwise I just won't bother.

It was a must buy for me. Ordered it off of steam, just waiting for it to unlock.

It has been getting solid reviews, and mixes up a couple of genre's I enjoy the most. And I love the art style they went with to boot. Just can't wait for the pc version to get here, been very hard holding off not buying one of the console versions while waiting.

It defiantly did not hurt that I also have several friends that are going to be getting it as well. 4 player co-op ftw!

I want to play as Mordecai, can anyone fill me in about how good Bloodwing is, in my currently planned tree I've not specced for it at all and I want to know if I've made a mistake

Here is what I find interesting... There are two games out now that are kinda thinking outside the box... Borderlands and Brutal Legend. Bother are mixing genras. Brutal Legend is an RTS/3rd person action/racing. Borderlands is RPG (similar to Diablo style RPG)/FPS/MMO. Brutal legend can tend to get a little hectic at times, but I tip my hat to it for being a little different. I say the same for Borderlands, I like the item whoring a la Diablo and the fun of co-op play. The game literally is a Diablo FPS.

Now there are some things they could have done better, like armor and special abilities. Really, with the special abilities, you only get one. You can upgrade it and you can even upgrade any one of the 4 classes to be kinda unique (i.e. build a character around teamwork or guns or your special ability). But more abilities would have been nice.

So, overall, I like it. It is an FPS with a little something extra that I like. So the popular comment is "If you like Diablo, you will like Borderlands" and I would agree with that. Either way, I give it props for trying to stand out.

There's about eight guns.

Unless you think "Shotgun of Hurty +1" is a "different gun" to "Shotgun of Boomage +4".

It depends on what type of games you like. Personally, I don't want it, but that doesn't mean its not good or worth buying.

No, but I do think "Double Shot Fire Ammo Scoped Low Spread Shotgun" is different from "Fully Automatic Infinite Ammo Wide Spread Fire Shotgun".

Thats like saying a sig sauer P226 is the same or just a"tiny bit" different from a Desert Eagle. They are both pistols but you would not say they are the same gun. Its the same in borderlands. There might be a shotgun that shoots lead pellets that light the enemy on fire and a shotgun that shoots rockets but that doesnt mean they are the same.
