Not at all. I guess I lost my train of thought and forgot to put down the point of my post. And that was: I don't care about Halo 4. At all. I hated Reach's campaign, and I was pretty tired of Halo's campaign by 3 - although I was briefly rejuvenated by ODST's campaign and firefight mode. The only reason I bought the games was to support Bungie - and to a lesser extent, play with friends.ZeroMachine said:You'll be disappointed to hear that Bungie has fuck all to do with Halo 4, then.VincentR said:SNIP
Ah, gotcha. Disagree with you so hard, but I totally understand.VincentR said:Not at all. I guess I lost my train of thought and forgot to put down the point of my post. truth. sadly i've been on both sides of the fence multiple times...Dr Jones said:People complain a game doesen't try something new, then they complain that the new addition sucks, making it another game.ResonanceGames said:They'd better change it up a lot, because this series is painfully tired at this point. A classic example of running a good franchise straight into the ground.
You're damned if you do and you're damned if you dont.
everything they've done so far hasn't exactly been my cup of tea.Korten12 said:Why?cthulhumythos said:currently pretending it doesn't exist. i have no faith in 343.

well nearly all of halo wars, halo waypoint, and what little i've seen of halo 4. also i'm not exactly ecstatic over announcing a new entire trilogy at once. also there was that one guy who felt that the problem with odst and reach was the absence of master chief. so i'm just going to pretend the series ended with reach and leave it on a high note.Korten12 said:Such as?cthulhumythos said:everything they've done so far hasn't exactly been my cup of tea.Korten12 said:Why?cthulhumythos said:currently pretending it doesn't exist. i have no faith in 343.

the story of halo wars was 343. and for some reason that teaser has irrevocably turned me away from the series. i feel how they present the chief didn't feel right, they made him like super duper space ninja, whereas i also saw him as a bit of a juggernaut. without bungie, i don't know if it'll capture the halo feel i'm used to.Korten12 said:Halo Wars was Ensemble Studios.cthulhumythos said:well nearly all of halo wars, halo waypoint, and what little i've seen of halo 4. also i'm not exactly ecstatic over announcing a new entire trilogy at once. also there was that one guy who felt that the problem with odst and reach was the absence of master chief. so i'm just going to pretend the series ended with reach and leave it on a high note.Korten12 said:Such as?cthulhumythos said:everything they've done so far hasn't exactly been my cup of tea.Korten12 said:Why?cthulhumythos said:currently pretending it doesn't exist. i have no faith in 343.
Also little of what we have seen? We have seen about nothing! Sure a concept art trailer, and a CGI trailer, but no gameplay, not even ingame footage. How could you have no faith in them if they haven't even showed anything?
Technically COD has a development time of 2 years, so a Halo every year would be worse. (assuming a short dev time means a worse game). But I am excited for it, I read the first book leading up to it (the others arent out yet) and it seems like it will be a great game.erttheking said:I...really have no idea what to think about this game. On one hand it's being developed by a company that had a lot of people that used to work at Bungie and that they have stated that they actually want to move the games in a new direction so that it doesn't get repetative but still keep a halo feel. On the other hand, it's clear that some of these changes are going to be drastic, Halo never exactly focused that much on it's characters, and 343 has stated that it wants to explore the minds of Chief and Cortana. Also they're going to start coming out once a year, giving me a nasty feeling that it's going to come down with COD syndrome.
So...what do you think?
A space ninja because he was dodging debree? Spartans are highly trained super soldiers. Hell they could be ninja's if they wanted to. In one part of The Fall of Reach book it said they were moving so fast and so stealthy that it was near-impossible to see. Also the MC isn't some slow juggernaught, it just the games never had sprint, in reality he could move extreamly fast.cthulhumythos said:the story of halo wars was 343. and for some reason that teaser has irrevocably turned me away from the series. i feel how they present the chief didn't feel right, they made him like super duper space ninja, whereas i also saw him as a bit of a juggernaut. without bungie, i don't know if it'll capture the halo feel i'm used to.Korten12 said:Halo Wars was Ensemble Studios.cthulhumythos said:well nearly all of halo wars, halo waypoint, and what little i've seen of halo 4. also i'm not exactly ecstatic over announcing a new entire trilogy at once. also there was that one guy who felt that the problem with odst and reach was the absence of master chief. so i'm just going to pretend the series ended with reach and leave it on a high note.Korten12 said:Such as?cthulhumythos said:everything they've done so far hasn't exactly been my cup of tea.Korten12 said:Why?cthulhumythos said:currently pretending it doesn't exist. i have no faith in 343.
edit- double checked the whole 343 and halo wars thing, wikipedia didn't mention them. guess i'm wrong there.

hey, if you feel that way that's fine. i'm not some halo hater trying to show how edgy i am by saying how bland and mediocre it is. it's just not for me. also our opinions on the anniversary greatly differ.Korten12 said:A space ninja because he was dodging debree? Also they remade Halo 1 perfectly and Annversiary and the maps are just great. Since 343 is made up mostly of the people who made the original trilogy.
Difference with TES and Halo being that in Halo you follow around the same guy, at the same era in the same vast universe. TES has much, much more freedom, with Tamriel, Nirn and no main protagonist for every game.ResonanceGames said:That's not really my point. They don't need to turn Halo into a 3rd person platforming submarine sim, but recycling the same gameplay ad nauseum is not going to cut it either. You can introduce large gameplay changes without destroying the core of the game. The Elder Scrolls have done that with every single game.
I've heard Reach was a good step in that direction, but I haven't played the campaign yet.
