Edit: the last option is supposed to read "I am ambivalent" and "Bioware" is supposed to be "BioWare's response"

So, a lot of people are upset about this whole controversy, but which part really bugs you?

For me, I didn't really care about the ending. I thought it was extremely poorly done and easily the worst part of the entire trilogy, but it didn't raise my blood pressure any. Sometimes you just get bad endings.

What got my attention, though, was the response from various sections of the industry, especially journalists. Most of the big name gaming news outlets came down pretty hard on those who complained about the ending. Terms like "crybabies" and "Entitled" were thrown around like candy on Halloween. I expect that sort of thing from the forums but not "professional" journalists.

The way I see it, people have every right to pissed about the ending if they want. BioWare has every right to ignore them, but nevertheless, consumers have a right to ***** if they want. They PAID for that product.

Journalists are trying to hide the game behind the "art" label. That might work if it were free, but people paid money for this. That makes them consumers. Consumers ALWAYS have a right to ***** about a product if they want.

The whole thing really has me questioning whether Game Journalists are too close to the industry. If they're going to deny gamers the right to even complain about games, that tells you a great deal about where their favor lies. It calls nearly everything they write about into question. Is game A really that good or are they just defending the publisher/developer? Big publisher Y had a falling out with little studio C, but are we just hearing Y's side of things?

I don't know. I just lost a lot of respect for "Journalists" when they started defending the very industry they're supposed to be reporting on.

There's no "ending controversy", just alot of bandwaggoning and soap-box preachers.

"ALL.THE.GOD.DAM.THREADS!"

I don't mind people hating what I like or vice versa and variations. The problem is when their preferences get in my way. There are currently seven threads that talk about the ME3 endings on page 1. Including this one. There are several more just ME/BioWare related. 11 of the 24 threads (25 -1 for the sticky) are not about BioWare/ME (one of these is about Dragon Age 2 but I still included it on the non-BioWare ones).

If you don't like the threads, STOP POSTING IN THE THREADS.

Seriously people. Figure out what you think your IQ is, and then subtract 10 points for every time you whined about "2 menny threads" by posting in a thread about the subject you're tired of seeing.

Start a new topic.
Post in one of the existing, alternative topics.
DO ANYTHING BUT BUMP THE TOPIC YOU'RE ANNOYED BY.

Not. Rocket. Science.

I don't know about the others but when I do post - the thread is fairly high on the page and furthermore, I hope that at least one person that took a look with the thread thinking "that reminds me, I better post a new thread about it" would not go ahead with their plan. And maybe the TC will also not post a new thread for the next thing they think of. Finally, get enough people commenting how the thread doesn't need to exist and maybe it would help the thread die.

It does the opposite of helping the thread die. Every comment bumps it up to the top of the page, keeping it alive. You know what kills threads? Not commenting at all.

Every thread about ME3 has lots of comments by virtue of being about ME3. I just hope that if people don't see a discussion they might not begin one.

And I don't tend to post on threads that are lower than the upper quarter of the page, if I don't want them there.

Here's the thing, the people who hate the ending are actively trying to accomplish something, they have a stated goal and they actually have done something, they've gotten Bioware to budge and donated to charity.

But what about the people who are complaining about these people? What are they accomplishing? What is their goal? They're not decreasing the number of threads on the topic, quite the opposite in fact. They're just contributing to the amount of complaining without any purpose to it.
