I previously used Firefox and before that I used Safari and then before that I used IE. Now I use Chrome though. It's fast and it's safe. It also has an ever growing list of extensions just as Firefox did. I'm glad I got out when I did, given what you said about security.

I wouldn't know, I don't use it. OP said there were security problems or something so I just ran with it. There weren't any when I used it (not to my knowledge anyway), but that was about January time.

despite that problem with it not shutting down right, I like FF's addons...
but...I'd probably change if I used a computer that couldn't handle the memory it hogs...

I use Chrome on this computer and Firefox on the other. I really can't tell a difference between the two, so I see no point in having both on the same computer.
Though to be fair, I only started using Chrome since IE was freezing up the damn computer everytime it started up.

Haha it isn't pedantic to say something that every single person who uses these forums should know.

....If you really think articles from over 6 months ago are still relevant you are grossly mistaken, especially when it comes to something like browsers.

I literally just made the jump from FF to Chrome (in the past 1/2 hour) and so far getting everything the way I liked it back in FF but with more speed and less clutter has been super easy. Chrome is looking to be the winner on my walkabout EEE, just because it simply doesnt have the spare screen space to accommodate all the bars I have open constantly in FF

I used to use chrome until the long-standing bug appeared for me where closing the program hard-locks the computer. So I use Firefox now.

Chome. And do you want to know one of the biggest reasons for using it? It takes up as little as my screen as possible. Seriously, you have the tabs at the top and the address bar underneath that. What else do you need? I don't want a thousand buttons, toolbars I'm not going to use, and loads of other crap. Oh, and the ability to Google search via your address bar is just so much easier than having to actually load Google.

i used to use internet explorer like probably everyone did. i move onto firefox cause i like the tab system and it supported transparent .png images.
