Mostly because the lighting's really wonky. Kinda dulls my eyes out. On the bright side, though, it makes it look like I don't have the skin tone of Casper the Friendly Ghost.

That's really interesting, also that's a pretty nice picture. It's fairly subtle though, I bet most people wouldn't notice unless you tell them.
Maybe they just thought it would be a nice compliment?
Back on topic: As for me... I think if I could have any color eyes I'd like red eyes. It may look evil, but it would also be unique and red is my favorite color. But... since that might get me weird looks after awhile I might just prefer to stick to my current hazel/ green eyes.
Most people don't notice, but some do... usually it depends on the lighting and what I'm wearing. Wearing green really makes the green one obvious, and wearing browns tends to make the central ring thing more obvious. I don't usually tell people I have different color eyes, so I can always tell when my friends notice... they just start staring straight into my eyes. Or, in one case, interrupt marching band section drills to debate which color's better.
And yeah, the nice compliment thing was probably the intent, but... I really wasn't expecting it.

They do look pretty
And yeah, like someone else said, I think (at least with the lighting from the picture) it's really subtle and a lot wouldn't notice without being told.
In the spirit of an eye for an eye (stupid pun...sorry)
I didn't vote, because I would keep my eyes the way they are, a dull blue-grey, I like my eyes, depending on the lighting and angle thereof they range from cheerful sparkling eyes, to the vengeful hush of a dead still foggy ocean, that traps you in it till you starve to death.
