Groan, not another thread about Origin. Bear with me. I though I would try a new approach of being constructive. So for all those who are refusing to use Origin, is there anything EA could do as far as making changes to Origin to get you to start using it. For me it is just to make the hardware and software collection it does on your system optional, like steam. So option D: below.

Please feel free to suggest changes and I will add them to the poll as I could not think of many.

Options
A: Nothing, I don't like EA and will never buy anything from them.

B: Nothing, I have steam and don't want to use another service / client.

C: Nothing, I hate on-line services, buy my games off-line and am already fed up at being forced to use Steamworks with games I did not buy from steam, now have the same with Origin as well.

D: Make the collection of hardware and software installed on your system optional, so it's in line with steam. I.e stop being spyware....

E: Cheaper than Steam / more competitive pricing

F: The interface is unusable. If the the software was better to use, I would use it.

G: Suggest something EA could do.

H: Suggest something EA could do.

Edit: The negative options are at the top as if I put them at the bottom to leave room for more positive suggestions the forum throws a wobbler. Also does not like having long option sentences, hence the full description for each option above.

Eh, I don't have a huge problem with Origin. Already got it installed.

Yeah, it's annoying, I'd rather not use it and I'm sure as hell not buying anything through it. But it's not a deal breaker. And if EA really wants to know exactly what kind of porn I have on my computer, well... they're welcome to it.

I think EA would have tostop been EA before it convinced a lot of people to use origins.

And by that i mean making such bad decisions that im not sure if theyre pissing off the fanbase accidently or on purpose anymore.

option B; but if they insist: A stop invading my privacy B the shop langauge equal to the origin langauge option. C give away free stuff to make up for the crap PR.

D fire the entire PR department and replace them by actaul monkeys

so basecly... i expect to see origin die in a flaming ball of fire pretty damm soon.

Change their entire approach to create a product that people will want to use rather than one that treats gamers like dumb farm animals herp-derping into eachother in the line to the slaughterhouse. And also make sure my next girlfriend is nicer than the last.

There is nothing they can do to change my mind at this point in time.

I already have Steam, with a rich library, and I have no need for a second client.
And they can offer me nothing that Steam cannot, apart from a few games I have no interest in.

It doesn't bother me that much to be honest. I start it up, it sits in my tray, starts my games and I close it when I'm finished. That's it. Seems fairly lightweight, and doesn't give me any popups or adverts. I don't see what the fuss is about...

There isn't a difference between steam and Origin to me and I run neither unless I'm actively using them, so the doubling of clients doesn't even effect me.

D and E. They really need to relax their attempted stranglehold, but more importantly I want them to try to tempt me to join. Right now their main strategy seems to be forcing me to join, which I really don't like. There's no reason for me to join.

I run Steam and Origin side by side, with no ill effects, though I prefer the Steam interface. In Origin I wish they'd implement things like achievements (like Steam), better profile customisation (like Steam) and groups (like Steam). Aside from that its an ok content delivery manager - games download from their servers quickly, buying games is straight forward and the friends list is ... well a friends list.

Make the surveying optional and I'll think about it. Even then, I still have Steam and it's much, much better.

Not really a comment pertinent to the poll, but thanks for playing....

Make Origin function more fluently.
Takes me five-fifteen minutes to get a game of battlefield three going.

Well, there are several reasons I will not use Origin:

- I already have Steam and I don't want to end up with half my games on Steam and half on Origin.

- Origin isn't much better than spyware, and I don't want it on my system.

- Steam has awesome deals almost constantly, and I very much doubt that Origin can or will compete with them.

Ultimately, it just comes down to the fact that we aren't given a choice whether or not we want to use Origin; it is being forcing on us, and if we don't install it then we can't play their games... by doing this they are making it so that I am not buying their games as well as just not using their client. It is a terrible business move in my opinion, and I assume we will see that reflected in their sales of BF3 in comparison to BFBC2.

Realistically speaking, there is nothing EA -will- do that will change my mind. If they had deals better than Steam, a return policy, and in general weren't assholes I might -consider- getting Origin. As it stands, Origin is the main reason I'm sticking with WoW and not getting ToR.

Not a thing: Aside from playing almost primarily offline, I also play on consoles almost exclusively. After two tries I wasn't impressed with Steam and Origin doesn't seem to be any better. I'll just stick with my consoles.
