My friends and I, as well as everyone I've ever met, has referred to it as screenlooking.
It's cheating if you use it to see where your enemies are. I never really considered it cheating if you use it to see where your teammates are (assuming you're playing two on two), but I suppose some would consider that cheating as well if you agreed beforehand not to use it for any reason. Also, if you do use it to see where your teammates are, there's a good chance you might accidentally screenlook on your opponent's screen, and you can't exactly unsee it once you've looked.
The real problem is that there's not really much you can do to stop it, as a master of screenlooking can do it really subtly. And don't you dare fucking ask me how I know that =3
