Depends on:
Whether or not I'm dying a cheap death
If the game is a lot of fun
What difficulty level I'm playing on
For example, if you're going to play COD4 on Veteran and rage quit after 10 deaths, you're not going to get very far.
But when Far Cry 2 killed me twice in the one spot I rage quit.

After so long, I'll just put the game down for a while and come back to it later. I generally find that the next day, that impossible be is actually pretty easy.

I will keep at it, and if absolutely all else fails (which if you keep at doesn't tend to happen)then I will ask my son to do it for me and prod his Leo ego with helpful comments like ''Hmmm, you're giving up? But you are a Leo, is it too hard? did it beat you?''!

I used to be like that. I have such a ridiculous number of games piling up to play these days (damn Steam/GoGamer sales...) that I only do that with things I'm having enough fun with at this point. It helps that I get so many of them on sale, so if I get sick of something...eh, what's five bucks?vamp rocks said:
Stuff that's good/fun enough, though, I'll keep metaphorically beating my head against a wall in the game until I get through whatever I'm stuck at. I'm having fun plowing through stuff in Painkiller lately (yeah, I know I'm a few years behind) specifically because it has that old school "you're going to get stuck on this until you actually learn how to play the game properly, and you're going to like it" thing going on.

I've left a game for several months maybe even a year and come back to it when i'm having too much trouble. I haven't done that in awhile, it was mostly when I was younger usually now i'll just keep trying because I won't let that shit beat me. Usually, that results in lots of swearing and occasionally rage quitting for the night to play something pointless and fun (Rock Band, Beutiful Katamari, some game on the indie marketplace).
