This stems from several convos I've been having with several friends. The first is me asking my gf why she was with the last guy when he was a dick. Another was from when I asked a friend why would she stay with a guy who drinks all the time. And hte most recent was when my best friend was complaining about how his gf gave blondes a good name (his words not mine) and how she complained ab him playing games. So, what is it ab ur mate that attracts you to them and if u dont have a gf/bf what traits do appeal to u? Personally, I like how my gf is so dedicated and loyal to us and how she so readily wants to play games with me.

I'm guessing that your masterful use of proper grammar and spelling is not one of the things your girlfriend likes about you.

Anyways, it's hard to say exactly what attracted me to my last girlfriend. She was this bubbly quirky girl, but she had a lot of depth and intelligence to her too. She was both someone that was enjoyable to be around, and someone who I had a lot of respect for. I liked that. Actually, I liked pretty much everything about her. Even the fact that she wanted to go out into the world and have an adventure, which contributed pretty heavily to our breaking up, was something I liked about her, despite its ultimate consequences.

Well, I couldn't find answers that could fit, so here it goes.

He is honest, has a noble heart. We can have long and elaborate discussions about pretty much anything, even if our points of view differ considerably (that includes theology, religion, politics, pretty much anything.) He has a strong sense of humor, even stronger imagination. He can speak his mind without fear of other people's reaction. He has integrity. He's half Sicilian. His smile is contagious.

What do I like/love about my boyfriend? Well, the thing that first attracted us to eachother was the love of gaming.

I ued to like his dreadlocks, until He cut them off.
His charm and wit.
I can talk to him emotionally, I can lean on him and he'll understand, he picks me up.
He's an amazing Dad to our child.
We can talk all day and night and not get bored, we can have intelligent and really stupid convosations and it works.

Etc etc etc.

Well he's not my significant other. But I wish he was. I love his smile, how I can make him laugh, and the fact that he's so gentle and kind.

As for my best friend, it's the fact that we can talk about anything, and I can say absolutely fucking anything I feel like without fear. He's incredibly mature and has a great sense of humour, even if he does like That 70s Show.

Bah-zing!.
Anyway vain me says beauty as that's what hooks me in.
But logical me says being smart, mainly because everyone I know yells at me for using long words.

My... friend who occupies an awkward between stage, where both of us like each other, but neither of us are forward enough to do anything about it (there needs to be a term for that!) is smart, quirky and funny. I dunno, eccentricity just kind of does it for me. The only slight stumbling block is that 1) I'm 4 years older than her, and 2) I'm starting a new term at uni in about 2 weeks, so don't feel I can commit if I'm buggering off instantly.
Kind of have to wait for Christmas holidays, I guess.

It is just something in the air about them, the way the talk with people, the way they act when they are alone with you, the way they think...

So some other thing. It is hard impossible to explain.

Kindness and gentleness of course! Although it's not like I have a thought in my mind of the "perfect girl" I would have to actually meet and get to know someone to know if I like them.

I'm not with her, but I'd have to say... all of the above :/
Above all though it's the fact she completely understands me and doesn't take any of my shit. It's a damn fucking shame she has no feelings of that sort for me and now that I've met her I'll never settle for less... I'm doomed to being a little emo boy forever!

For me, they have to be intellectual (a specific type of intelligence) and make me laugh. I didn't pick those two until I realized all the people I've ever had crushes on had those qualities (or, at least, I thought they did at the time).

I'm not currently seeing anyone, but I've got a thing for this girl at school (see thread about the subject) and it's her dedication in the same major that I'm in that attracts me to her. That and she's cute :)
