I don't buy into this "I don't notice their physical appearance at all, thats how un-shallow I am" thing going around.

For me it's usually hair/face or chest. Yeah, judge me if you will but it depends on the height and just how striking either of those features are on the girl in question.

Assuming its a girl, I look at body shape, posture, and clothing. Its amazing how much you can tell about a person through their appearance.
In all honesty I'd probably use those cues to get a first impression of a guy as well, but no homo in regards to body shape.

They have to medium length hair, at least. I have a thing for long hair, like past shoulder length and further, so girls with longer hair draw my eyes.
Their smile. It has to be natural. It can't be too chhesy or faked. I prefer a smaller smile, but one that really lights up the girl's face. Even better, one that lights up the whole room. And if a girl has some thin, horizontal line where her smile should be, and she seems like she's got something stuck up her ass...well, I'm not interested.

Their hair and their mouth, I guess. Their head in general. Followed by their clothes. And how thin their legs are. I don't like dating guys who are skinnier than me. Or prettier than me. As for girls, I usually notice their clothes first, because I'm really shallow like that.

People like to think they can tell what a person is like through the eyes or face, but it's most likely just the biological tendency to trust people who have symmetrical faces. Clothing and hair can tell you a person's taste and interest in things.
