By the way, what exactly did he get the Nobel Prize for, I wasn't aware he had done anything that significant yet.
He's black. That makes him a big deal, apparently.

(Well, it is a big deal, but not really deserving of a Nobel Peace Prize, no? Though it's kind of nice to see the raging racists are such a minority that a black guy gets to be President, though it's going to be a damn long time before there's a Muslim, gay or atheist one.)

I don't live in the USA and I'm not really into politics, so I can only say this:

I think Obama is a pretty cool guy. eh is a smart democrat and doesn't afraid of anything...

Ugh, google it and you'll find out why. It's not just because he's black, yo.

I think he's great, as is his manifesto. But then I'm young and left wing, so apparently my opinion is irrelevant.

I wasn't entirely serious, but point taken.
(Doesn't change the fact there's no way in hell he deserves a Peace Prize, though.)

We he is helping our image a bit. That and I bought my first house this year abd that 'obama money' as we've been calling it has really helped fix little things around the house.

Ah, heh. My bad. I don't know about how deserving he is, I think he's definitely worth of candidacy, but then I don't know who the other candidates were. Personally, up to now the world has seen America (Forgive the cliched analogy.), as the school bully. Now imagine if the bully turns around B-rate kids movie style and starts using his muscle for good?
Although, having said all that, the original point still stands. Candidacy for sure, but we need to know who the others were first.

I'm American. I'm Republican. I used to hate him. Now, I don't give a rat's ass either way. Truth be told though, I think it's better for our party that he was elected rather than John "I'm just goin' to do the same shit as Bush anyway" McCain. Also, I hope to God that Sarah Palin doesn't get the Republican nomination in 2012.

He's a decent guy, it seems, but he seems to be focusing way too fucking much on being "that kick ass president everyone loves" rather than "that president that actually gets something done with his time, besides being cool and black."
He can't win; Nixon is already my beloved kick ass president.

Or at least his disembodied head is...
Kick ass presidents
1. Richard Nixon (most filthy mouthed president we've ever had)
2. Teddy Roosevelt (only came in second because he once refused to shoot an adorable baby bear, showing the world that he wasn't as ballsy as we thought)
3. Ronald Reagan (I don't know jack shit about him, but someone once told me he threatened Russians with a space laser)
4. John F. Kennedy (banged Marilyn Monroe and was the first president to have his head explode)

Okay, he won the nobel prize for pushing countries to begin nuclear disarmament (sp?) including his own.

Read a newspaper.

Well for anyone who has never purchased a home before the federal government was offering to give $8000 (about £5100) couples for taking the plunge and purchasing a home. I can say that my wife and I wouldn't have bought a house without that because we were afraid of the initial high cost (processing fees, downpayment and such) this helped us get over that hump and begin building equity which puts money back into the economy. It has also helped the housing sales slump. (If you're a single person you can get a a credit for about half that much)

Since it was a bill introduced by president obama a lot of people are calling it 'obama money' or 'obama house money'

edit: I like the Cos so sue me.

There aren't enough prizes to give everyone who's done that.

He has good intentions, and seems a nice enough guy, but I'm sick of the way the media idolizes him. It just makes me want to hate him. If George Bush killed a fly, they'd be attacking him like crazy.

I wonder what all the fuss about him is. He is just yet another centre-right politician, one who backs down on many promises, but is inspirational and has okay leadership skills. If he was as left-wing as some people say he is, then that would be better, and hopefully he would get more done.

Recently, he's said he's going to overturn Don't Ask Don't Tell, which would be a fantastic thing to do. However, at this point all he's doing is reiterating one of his campaign promises. Hopefully he would eventually live up to them.

Not saying he hasn't done anything, but so far he seems to be more about talking than doing. I just want to see Obama force things through - such as healthcare. Stop attempting to reach over to the other side, force universal healthcare through, and let the results speak for themselves. Unfortunately, he won't do that.

Can't really tell this early in his presidency. He's doing far better than our last president though... *Shudder*
Do you really mean that, or are you just agreeing with the media?

The world should be worried about Obama.

America's "cowboy diplomacy" has been the only thing holding back the communists all these years.

Do you think it's a coincidence that the Russians are now starting to get a little more ballsy with regard to Eastern European states like Georgia and Poland. Also, the way they seem to be supporting iran and n. Korea. They're looking for trouble.

In a few years, the world will be begging for a George W. Bush like president.
Wow, you know Russia was getting 'ballsy' with those states before Obama was president, right?
Do you also know that Russia is no longer communist?
America's "cowboy diplomcy" has been the only thing that has made the rest of the world dislike it so much.
Oh, I'm sorry? [uiThey're looking for trouble?[/i] What? America has the right to tell the world what to do now?
By the way, you know that the U.S. Government supported both Saddam Hussein and the Taliban at one time, right?
What about Israel, huh? How much trouble has that country caused?

Russia is just another country, America is just another country, they happen to occupy different viewpoints. This in itself is not a problem, it's when "cowboy diplomacy" and people like Bush come along that it becomes a problem.

Serious Response: I guess... This suddenly isn't The Escapist anymore?
Maybe if the Red Guard suddenly became the Gestapo and began cracking down on trolls and useless threads then maybe people would straighten out.

We could use a thinning of the herd.
*snaps fingers* Yes, we could definitely use some Troll and Useless thread hunting trips!

OT: I like him. He's making Cowboyland better.
