Do you think this is a right move for Activision and Infinity Ward? Tell why or why not you think it would or wouldn't be. If you're in the middle somewhere how would you improve it right now? Before you comment on this thread you may want to take a second and research it on the internet.

I say keep it for now. Only because from what I hear about it, which isn't much, it doesn't sound too bad. The paid part seems a little suspicious to me since I don't know if it gives them an unfair advantage or not over someone who doesn't pay for it. To me it just seems like a perfect way for some of the more involved players a way to keep track of their stats and whatnot.

I'm kinda surprised that they haven't done this earlier since COD is used for competition playing and stats is the big deal with them.

So am I to believe that COD customers have so little restraint that they will pay even for this?

Other developers provide stat tracking and whatnot absolutely free. Justify that CoD fanbois.

Well the only people that "need" this for clan based things is console people. On PC we already have a load of websites and services dedicated to doing this not just for CoD but for all games.

OT: I think they should keep it but make it for free. All it really is is an online social network with some stats and heat maps. You get this in nearly every other big competitive FPS on the market for free already. BF:BC2 has it and you can get maps and draw in your own plans on it, TF2 has it, even BO actually has it.

I don't care about it. I'm not planning on buying another Call of Duty games and if dumbasses want to waste money on it, then oh well.

Another way of milking customers of their hard earned money. The thing is, I'm not mad at Activison for introducing this scheme, the expensive map pack and the expensive game itself. I'm angry at the gamers who support Activision's crap whilst at the same time voicing their dislike of the games they publish..

True, PC players have had that for a while now, and console users will actually get to use what PC users have had for a good while now.

I'm just curious why they didn't do it as a social network like it practically is, and have some of it be monitary when it should be free. I'm hoping that when it finally rolls out they won't screw the people that will use it, and I wonder if it's gonna affect the PC users at all.

Well from what I know some parts of it will be free and some will be for premium members. So far the only thing we are sure of is for premium members is the web series. Hopefully they will offer most of the things for free like the Heat/Death maps etc but since real prizes are being given away I would say you need to be premium for the tourny/clan side of things. It might affect things a bit I really have no idea what state the CoD competitive scene is at the moment as I don't bother with scrims and clans at the moment.

Everything I have to say has already been said by Fiz The Toaster. Just going to declare my support and leave it at that.

I like CoD but I'm not that much of an idiot that I'm gonna pay for this service. To me its just not worth giving Activision more money.

Oh look! They are trying to make us pay for stuff often offered for free by other devellopers or available on the Internet, again for free.

Yeah, I hope it bombs big time.

A la Halo: Reach/Halo 3

I won't do the Elite service, as much as I like CoD, I don't need a heat map to tell me that I am getting picked off by an Enfield next to this specific barrel alot. I'd probobly figure it out for myself.
