Well the gravity gun's pretty important but when I read the title the first thing to come to mind was crowbar

The Gravity gun is one of the best weapons ever in any game. But still, the crowbar is Gordon's trademark weapon. Its in a lot of concept art with him, and its the first weapon he picks up in both Half-Life 1 and 2.

Although it's worth mentioning that he starts both Episodes with the Gravity Gun, I agree.

I entered the Valve reception area and the first thing that struck me was the sheer number of awards lying around the place, ranging from simple perspex trophies along the window sill and shelves of framed certificates to a big golden crowbar and a wooden crate lying on the floor...

I think that won the argument.
